Default APE Stage II dyno help

Just ran my car at a dyno day today.

212 hp / 217 tq @ 15 psi and running SUPER rich - so rich it's of the scale (<10:1).

I'm planning to get to a new local dyno that's opening up and dpend some quality time with the AFPR and accuboost to get things a little more sane.

I was hoping to find any samples of dyno plots people have from APE stage II runs to see what boost levels and A/F ratios they are tuning too.

I'll post the plot tomorrow, but it's pretty depressing

When I dynoed my car with Autothority Stage II chips and jetted banjo bolt, I got 236 rwhp/244 rwtq. This is with a K26-8 turbo and stock fpr. Boost was hitting 2 bar on the stock gauge and was not logged. Mixture was off the scale (less than 10:1), same as yours. I no longer run those chips.

Here's the dyno from my K26/6 with APE stg 2 chips and 18psi. Relevant mods to the car are 3" exhaust with no cat and lightweight flywheel.

It also went off the scale rich in the midrange. But I wasn't willing to run more boost with these chips.

255rwhp, 300rwtq.

Mine went over-rich in the same spot. Could not tune it out no matter what I tried. I no longer run those chips either.

Mine were the same and I am convinced that Autothority made them run rich intentionally to prevent knock and engine damage in the peak torque range. Also 11.5 or so for the peak rpm is not terribly rich and kept the average driver from having to worry about the exact octane rating of the gas.

Coolness. I still need to scan my plot, sorry. Mine goes off the bottom of the A/F chart at about 2500 and never comes back. I'm hoping I can get some power and torque back by bringing it to something sensible.

ninefiveone - do you know what fuel pressure you're running ? Also, what type of boost controller do you have ?

Did you get the extra 35 horses from upping boost or tweaking A/F between runs ?

So does this mean that there is no way to tune out the rich condition created by the APE chips?

I use the power perfect with the APE chips. The next dyno sheet shows my a/f ratio adjusted manually on the spot, that map has been adjusted on my pc and downloaded back to the power perfect. I am expecting to be back at the dyno next week and I guarantee that the rich spot will not be there.

Lart

So once I get my MAF with my PSC1 in and running. I will be able to tune out any rich lean condition?

Yes, I am not familiar with the PSC1 but it should be the same thing.

I guess that the question should really be is there a limit to how much a piggy back fuel computer can manipulate a signal.

Or is it infinite? Infinite being fool the computer into turning the injectors off. Or zero fuel supplied for a given condition? Does that make sense?

Now, that I can't answer. Maybe Fast951 can give us some insight about the signal massangers capabilities. I know that I have played with 2 different set of chips and I was able to get a fairly straigh a/f plot.

Wow A/F is flat and consistent.
