I agree about getting your head fixed. How old were those belts?

30,000 miles. just because of what i went through last time it happened, i have absolutely NO problem changing it every 30k.
i had no idea when the PO changed the timing belt, so a couple months after i bought it, on the way to the shop to have it done since i was in school at the time and didnt have any time to do it, the belt broke

Just bought the car last month. The previous owner drove it 4k miles in the last 2.5 years. I've already put over 1k miles on it this month and it's not my daily driver! Course, that includes the 500+ miles to drive it home when I bought it...

On my previous car, which i had for 8 years and put some 100K on the car, I change the belt every 45K. And never had a problem.(after the first week I owned the car,when my belt broke and damage the valves). During this time I never touch the water pump or the rollers. my theory is simple: the less you mess with it, the less it breaks.
