Ok dude, LAY OFF THE BOOST! Some points have a AFR of high 13's at 10psi!

PS there is something wrong if you see 13psi at over 4,000rpm... on a 2.8 and your turbo, thats insanely bad.

That is kind of high for this combo. I wonderif their is any leaks in the exhaust?
Or maybe is the way the dyno works?

Regards,
AL

I have suggested you to get custom made chips and tuning on your car to get better performance and reliability. I have also given your pricing on this.

I was under the impression that your car is stock except for the engine mods, did not know about the adjustable fuel pressure regulator until this thread.

hmmmmmmmmm.....ok.....I'm not questioning your abilities.....I trust you, which is why I am wondering why you didnt warn me about laying off the boost with the high AFR rates......or perhaps you disagree with NZ951 and you think there isnt a problem.......anyway I still intend to have Devek assist with the tuning but I think I have some new ideas now that we can discuss later.

OT: NZ951, if your dyno chart reads correctly (650Nm torque) it's approx. 480 lbft ... quite a bit!

DEVEK has done a dyno run on your car and provided you with the results and advice on tuning.

We have yet not worked on your car or sold you any products.

When you have decided what to do next you know where I am and how to reach me.

I have a boost controller and chips sitting on my desk waiting for you for whenever you make up your mind.

Does it convert to that much? I know the guys made a comment on the huge amount of torque and the very flat curve, but I didnt think it was that much, I was mre interested in the shape of the curve over the numbers... hmmmm I just put it down to 8v bigger displacement...

Holy crap! Powerhouse really reccomended a 27/6 for that car. They need a drug testing policy.
Dude, get your butt back to Ander's joint, and do what he says. You need a different turbo, new chips, and may need to take a look at injector size, and pressure. Ander's will get it taken care of. But, keep this strongly in your mind. No one can give their best assistance, if you don't communicate the "whole" picture. Here's an example:

"OK but honestly.....without having to spend some serious $$$ on engine upgrades (wide fire, O rings.....etc) how much PSI should I run on a daily driver 2.8L engine that hasnt been built up?"

There is NO SUCH THING as a 2.8 that hasn't been built up. It began life as a 2.5. Too get the potential out of that engine, you have to get control of the air/fuel ratio, timing, and a turbo that is proper for the car. I have a 27/6 on my 2.5 ltr. You need much more. period. You are moving more air. Also, you might want to buy Corky Bell's book Maximum Boost .

It's jsut a shame that my 2.5 puts out what your 2.8 does, and a little bit more. With Anders your in good hands.

Not trying to insult you - just the dumbasses that sold you that.
Really - there is a lot of money in that engine just to have a dog.
I mean, you will have early spool, but it will lay down up top and never make 60% of the power that it SHOULD make.
You are going to have a backpressure ratio of at least 2.5:1, and that is too much in anyone's book.
Powerhouse sold that to you because that is all he sells - **** from 1989, and he doesn't have to worry about liability with a triple K turbo.
If you PM me, I will tell you how to clock backpressure - then you can consult any professional turbo mechanic in the world with the numbers and see what they say about your ratio.

Excuse me but 13psi@4100rpm? On a 2.8L? With a #6 hotside?
Sounds like something is very wrong. Or am I reading his numbers wrong?

Bring that turbo back to Powerhaus & smack it
on the head of the idiot that recommended you
the K27/6. I would have forgiven him if he had
at least recommended of K27/8.

The numbers on the torque scale are NOT engine torque. Try to convert the hp numbers to TQ and it will give a much lower figure. The label on the axis states wheel torque (engineTQ/gearing) but that doesn't add up either.
