Default Will a T04 Garrett with V trim work well with a 2.5L?

The spool up is about 3800 RPM but since this is a track car I have no problems with that. Thanks in advance.

Which T04? E, B, S........

Stage 5 trim is big, but you already stated it would be for the track.......good top end power beyond the 4000+rpm range.

Koklen's turbochargers use the T04B compressor with the stage 5 trim IIRC, works well.

How do you know it works well? Whats your definition of working well? Boost thresehold? Efficiency range?

V trim is different than Stage 5. Both are laggy for a 2.5L car...

The guy selling the turbo says that spool up comes on at 3800 RPM or so. Is this too late for a track car. I asked him if it this was a 2.5L car or not but I haven't heard back from him. I thought that it would be fine.

V trim and Stage 5 are the same, just Roman numbers:

After that comes the N, O, P and Q trim (from least to greatest).

I don't know if I dare to question the turbo gurus here but AFAIK V-trim is a compressor wheel size and stage V is a turbine wheel????

I previously mentioned many aspects of teh TO4B compressor. How much CFM, lbs/min, efficiency range and various other factors.

Even if you didn't see any of those posts, you should remember the stupid 17-page Turbonetics thread i started a while back (which you contributed in).

I said this many times before, and i would say it again. I am NOT a turbo GURU, but i did my own homework, since i myself have a 60-1 HiFi!!!!!!

Thomas, the "stages" are referred to the turbin wheel, there are no "stages" for the housing. Just the KKK size (8cm squared and 10cm squared). Every Garrett housing use the A/R size, when i contacted Turbonetics to help me decide on the turbochargers, they informed me that their replica cast KKK #8 hotside was the same as a 0.62 A/R.

One more thing, TonyG, Daniel 951, YOU and several other are making gobs of power at nice boost levels, that alone should give you an idea on how "well" that turbocharger (which utilized the T04B) works on the 2.5L 951.

Yes, I think I said that the stages are turbine wheels?!
And yes I know about A/R for housings but I really don't understand what it has to do with all this? Are you saying that I am wrong when I state that V-trim is a compressor wheel?

This thread has been modified. If I deleted your post(s) or edited your reply - you may want to question which parts and why.

But - I suspect most of you know "why"...

NZ951: This is not a custom SFR turbo. It is a modified Huntley dual ball bearing turbo?

Ah then you are kinda rooted. So many different variations of the Huntley turbo came out it will be very difficult to find out the exact characteristics without trying it! basically you will know that it will perform reasonably well, in some way, but not necessarliy to your goals, as you dont know the exacts of the turbo...
