A lot of it has to do with how they apply load on your car on the dyno, but that typically only impacts on max power and boost threshold, not max boost from my experience...

Andrew, I was inside the car on the 2nd & 3rd run and the boost needle never went over 17psi. But when i was driving back home it went easily to 19-20 psi. I have a video of the last dyno run but it's 20mb in size, if I can just find someone to host for me. Anyway I am going to check my MAF outlet, I am using a reduction hose from the turbo to the MAF I think my turbo inlet is 2 1/4 and my Maf outlet is 1 3/4 but I am still confused by the boost behavior. On the Dyno boost came rolling very slowly, on the street the car was violent and boost came quickly. Wth??

How hot did the intake/intercooler get? What sort of boost control are you using?

Looking at your graph (very nice BTW), I'm thinking you have a 38,, Tial with 0.8bar spring?

Lart,
Did you already have the Lindsey MAF installed prior
to the purchase on the GURU chips ?

Hi John, they placed a small fan to cool the car not the regular giant fan and It wasn't aiming at the cooler. It wasn't that hot yesterday maybe 88-90 degrees. My wastegate is a stock shimmed one.
The A/F ratio was a quick adjustment at the dyno, I will get it straigh once I load it back to my pc.
The guy at the shop is not familiar with P-cars they do civic's with 500-650 hp low 10 high 9 1/4 mile cars but he said something about my timing not being right maybe it's time to get your chips.

It's a autothority MAF with stg II chips from my previous 951, later i upgraded to Lindsey digital (power perfet unit) I never had any problem in my other 951 until I bought my current car. I ended up seeking guru racing assistance but the guru chips never helped at all, danno said it was my car but I sold the chips on ebay and the guy who bought my guru chips had the same problem check this out

https://rennlist.com/forums/944-turbo-and-turbo-s-forum/207316-problem-with-huntley-racing-stage-3-maf.html

he email me later and said that he took the guru chips out and reinstalled the stock chips and the car is running fine now.

I've tried APE chips, several GURU chips and now Vitesse chips with my old Huntley MAF, turbo, injectors and ARC2. At least on my set up, the off-the-shelf MAF Vitesse chips have the best combination of road manners, power, and a/f ratio. Danno was getting close with custom chips (which yielded my highest glory run on the dyno at 347rwhp), but his business issues kept us from getting the chips dialed in for everyday driving. I suspect the Vitesse chips would yield similar numbers.

Tom, my goal is to purchase the vitesse stg III, but my major problem is to find a reliable honest shop or mechanic to do the job of installing the kit for me here is So. Cal. I'll do the tuning but I am not mechanically oriented.

Lart, so you are using the APE MAF, APE chips and fine tuning with the powerperfect?
The APE chips are way too aggressive for 91 oct gas (assume that's what you guys have in CA).
However, nothing you have explains why your boost was limited to 17psi on the dyno. Maybe, you couldn't lgenerate enough load and the heat soak didn't help either.
As far as a kit install, the time consuming part is the turbo. If you can put 1 weekend aside, you can have it installed yourself. Based on what I hear, most owners do a better job at the install.

lart what gear did you do the dyno pulls in? be careful of heat soak, i went to a dyno shop that had only one small fan and you could feel the intake manifold was super hot and i wasn't making the power i thought i should be. went to another dyno shop shortly after with better cooling and put down over 40 more wheel hp.

That's correct John, I am using the APE MAF , APE chips and using the Power perfect to tune the car I am also using 10% xylene mixed with my gas. I am just waiting for a little break on my finances my wife decided to remodel the house and also my 3 boys decided to go into paintballing and I ended up buying 3 angel fly's paintball guns plus the gear, you don't want to know how much those TOYS cost.

If you only knew how much I regret not going your way from the beginning instead of buying a part here and there that was my biggest mistake.

Shaheed, that makes a lot of sense, they placed a fan like this in front of the car and they placed the big one in the rear to send the exhaust fumes out of the shop.

I am trying to upload a short video version of the dyno session 3,85 mb but the server wont let me upload.
