I just installed a Huntley Racing Stage 3 MAF in my 86 951. I have in my car a test pipe, 3 bar fuel regulator, blow off value, 2 guru chips, manual boost controller, and know the MAF. The problem is I can not get the car to run smoothly at all above 4000 rpms. When i get up in the rpms the car hesitates hard and their is no power. It seems to me that the car was faster with out the MAF. I don't know what it could be. I also have the arc from split sec to try to tune it but still no luck high in the rpms. Please if any one can help me it will be a huge help, I just turned 21 the other day and i need to drive my car again since the weather has been nice. Thanks

you could have a bad wasteagte or a seriosus vac leak.

I check all the lines and ne leak but I had no problem with the wastegate last season.

Make sure you are not running LEAN when the car hesitates!!!!!!! Many things can cause the problem you are dealing with from bad MAF, incorrectly mapped MAF signal,.....

How do you have things wired up? Do you have the type of ARC2 that drives the MAF? Is it wired as per splitsec.com ? Do you have an ARM1 or other a/f ratio gauge installed? If everything is hooked up as intended, chances are that you just don't have the fuel dialed in right yet. You really need some kind of a/f monitor in oder to dial in the fuel -- otherwise you are just guessing in the dark. You are probably too righ or too lean up top, both of which can cause problems. Where are your ARC2 settings now? If the a/f is dialed in correctly, and it still hesitates when you floor it, the problem is often bad spark plug wires, cap, rotor, etc.

Are the chips setup for the MAF or were you running the same chips before you installed the MAF?

Everything is wired up according to the directions and I have an Air Fuel gague that i set up good but still has a lot of problems at high rpms. The chips are the first time i used them. the brand is guru and they told me that i would have no problem using them.

Also do you think the injectors have anything to do with it?

What is the a/f ratio when it hesitates? (If an ARM1, what color when it hesitates?)

No big mystery here. The chips and the MAF are hugely incompatible. The AFR and the timing maps are all over the place and the headgasket does not have long to go with this management.
We have seen this 100's of times before.

I believe that the stage 3 was designed for larger injectors and turbo. More then likely your running on the lean side because of it. You could do one of three things. Get a larger turbo and injectors, purchase a smaller maf meter similar in size to the stock afm or go back to the stock afm until you upgrade to the larger turbo and injectors. You might be able to tune the arc 2 for a good a/f but your timing will be way off.

Marc, before you blown your head gasket, Please please buy a wideband monitor, Innovate has one for $ 349.99 , most likely you are running lean, your head gasket wont last long I guarantee.

Yes a wideband is a great idea, you will keep an eye on your A/F ratio.

Lean = blown head gasket
Blown HG = $$$$$$$$$$

I would start out with those "basics" before jumping and assuming things, also try contacting the vendor (Guru) maybe the FQS is set wrong (common issue).
