Yes..its because the inlet tubes on your catch can are too small. Take the can out and throw it in the garbage before it really messes up your car. Good to see you got on this early

What catch can are you running? I don't see how that tube cant hold vacuum that is needed there, but enlighten me.
My dipstick pops out, i thought it was piston rings pressurizing the crank case, so i did a compression tesat. 150 155 150 150... so not that. so i revved and watched the dipstick pop out and move up more then an inch... seemed like it was vibrating out. I took it out, put mi finger on it and revved. vacuum, yes... vibration, can't even keep my finger on it. I'm going to go ahead and geuss it is balance shafts are off for me, mounts are possible as well.

Doesn't the stick attach to the intake manifold with a 10mm bolt. Mine has been off for a year because its such a pain to attach it. its finally back on. Would the bolt keep it from popping out?

There is an updated dipstick on my '89 951, with a small roller in the middle, and it's more difficult to insert and remove than the one on my previous '86. Now I know why it was updated. Try the updated dipstick, it may solve your problem. I have the pn at home, and can get it tonight, but you can order it at any Porsche dealer, or Paragon may have it.

The updated dipstick is expensive: about $40, if I recall. I'll check PET tonight as to whether you need an updated tube as well. You may be able to use the original tube and just get the dipstick.

Oh, I don't know what I was thinking. When I read this post, I was thinking that the problem was with the tube popping out of the oil pan. Now that I've reread the post I'm back on track.

This happened to me right before my crankshaft broke, oil was spraying on the underside of the hood above the dipstick too. I think the oil leaking out of the broken oil passages may have been pressuring the crankcase, but IDK...
