Default LR intake

Anybody tried this on a 2.5l? With a larger turbo? With a head with larger intake valves?

I have tried it, and the setup doesnt work as it is now. Theres something messing up, and I cant think of anything else than the LR intake!? My hp come on very late, and the car isnt pushing like it should do at all!

This is my setup:
Vitesse ST 3
LR ST3 head
LR Intake

Is the above mods to much for a 2.5l engine?
Preciate all input!

Thomas

Whats late? I have the intake and other work done and I build alittle late (closer to 4k rpm) and pull all the way to redline If I wasn't worried about the bottom end, I'd keep revving..

All the mods you have move power to the right so its gonna be a little sluggish down low but should be awesome at higher RPM.

With all that I would have thought that a WBO2 would have been in order to tune the car. Do you have a WBO2, vac/boost gauge, etc. If you have the Vitesse III then you have the SMT6 to tune with and Johns chips. You have a start up map but with STage III you do need to setup your fuel for the intended boost level. John gives you a great start up map - do you have the fuel pressure at the correct setting and the FQS where he recommends?

Ski: sure I got all the stuff I need to tune in the car. Got ZT2 WB02 with boost and EGT as well, HKS vac/boost gauge. My map etc is fine, my question was if anybody had any information about the LR intake on a 2.5l engine.

My car isnt any faster than an ordinary 951 with a guru 18psi chip!! Any my hp comes on somewhere after 4500rpm. So, theres something wrong.. Would like to figure out whats wrong soon! The car isnt pulling hard at redline either....

Do you still have the stock intake manifold? Swap them and do back to back comparisons. Did the Vit Stage 3, head and intake manifold all go in at the same time?

There was a guy last year who dyno'd his car with a LR setup of II MAF, II head, exhaust of 3", hard pipes, and piggyback. The car dyno'd at 312/330 with the stock intake at 15psi. Next week had the LR intake installed, dyno was 326/341 with no other changes other than a little remap with the piggyback.

How is your exhaust and crossover pipe? Any exhaust leaks that you can hear? You should have boost 3800-4000...how rich are you running the car with the A/F ratios as you hit boost?

With Stage 3, he should be getting (4th gear) 1bar boost 3200-3400RPM.. He should be making 20psi below 4000RPM.

Even with standard turbo set-up, using manifolds with short
runners will move power & torque up the rpm range.

All mods did go in at the same time... Stupid to do, I`ve learned that now

Now, I`m getting 1bar boost at 3300rpm! A/F around 12.5:1 down there, and 11.8:1 up top. The A/F is still not perfect, but I cant believe that its THAT much a difference between a good map, and a perfect map. The car doesnt go as it should. I`m running 15psi boost, but did some runs at 18psi and it wasnt that big a difference. It feels that something in my engine isnt working together. Could it be that the engine isnt getting enought air? (I`m using the LR map trap as well) I`m running fqs 0, could this have anything to do with it?

Will try to swap the intake some day!
Thanx for the help

tuning is everything. You can have the best parts in the world on the car. If you timing and fuel isint right.....your #'s wont be right. Its that simple.

I am curious to know what kind of numbers you put down on higher boost levels and pump fuel. I was pondering a stage 3 myself. Minus the maf.

Do you have any plans to hit a dyno soon. I would like to know since I might be running a very similar setup.

So you're saying you do get the correct amount of boost, but it still doens't pull hard?
Do you have any logging capabilities that can log rpm, boost, a/f etc?

It not, my suggestion is to go out and measure e.g. your 50-150 km/h time so we can get a hint of how the car runs.

Thomas, your AFR 12.5-11.8:1 is fine... And if you are getting 1bar at 3300RPM then not a problem..
How are you measuring the performance: by feel, 3000-6000RPM run, speed, dyno?

Do a data log, send me the file.. Based on the MAF voltage I can calculate the air going in and the approx HP your engine is making...
