Default Radiator hose options

My car is a 1987 with 166K on the chassis and 45k on a rebuilt motor..

its runs great, however I want to take a few steps to ensure I can keep it from breaking down on the side of the road..

i am going to replace all the fluids, redo all the vacume lines in viton hose..
and redo the ignition (coil, plugs, rotor, cap)

I was thinking about replacing all the radiator hose as well..

I would prefer to do them with something better then the stock rubber.
My old 924S definatly blew of a few of those stock hoses

is there anyone that makes a replacement silicone hose kit?

I have been digging around the net all morning with no luck.

Ok, if none are available would anyone be interested in having a place develop them?

a full set of silicone radiator hoses + vacume lines would be good for everyone as far as got getting stuck on the side of the road one day goes..

I am sure I can track down a that will make them..

There is already a vacuum kit offered in silicon. I got mine from the member MySwiss on here, but I think you can get one from Lindsey Racing as well. You can get fairly cheap silicon hoses from www.boostcontroller.com as well. I ordered about 20 ft of their 4mm ID along with the MySwiss kit and it turned out to be almost perfect... I replaced all the vacuum lines, added an MBC, and Laust's Vacuum Manifold and barely had enough. MySwiss' kit comes with the appropriate hoses needed to remove the ugly venturi tubing under the intake manifold. This venturi mess was removed from the 951 design starting in 1988, I believe.

I am not too worried about the vac lines (heck you can get silicone hose at many car parts stores now).. I am more concerend with the radiator hoses..

I am kinda surprised that no one makes a silicone kit yet..

nope. No-one makes a full coolant/boost hose kit in silicon. Some of them are realatively easy to make up from generic parts, but a lot can be expensive. Believe me, I looked!

For a full stock hose kit, IIRC AJUSA used to offer them on their website, or alternatively try a few of the more "favoured" vendors for a quote too.

It would be nice if a manufactuer would design a silicone coolant hose kit for our cars. Prolly would be quite a bit $$$. I may be interested, cost would be the deciding factor.

It seems this would be more of a cosmetic upgrade as there's nothing wrong with OEM rubber hoses. The majority of mine have lasted 17 years. I've had to replace a couple so if those last another 15 years, well I'm sure I won't have the car anymore by then.

Judging by prices of currently available kits, I reckon that a silicon hose kit would be around £200. There's a new silicon hose manufacturer just opened up here in the UK, aswell as the more established Samco and SFS. Now if enough people are interested, I could contact them and see if they are interested in making a low run on them. I've offered this a couple of times in the past and got nowhere, so I'm not gonna waste any time if there's no interest here. We would somehow need to gather enough original hoses for them to copy of course too, and I suspect that with the varying amount of modifications that some of us have done, a single bespoke kit would be difficult, if not impossible to organise, so I would suggest pure and simple to create a standard car kit.

f you are interested, put it on here, and we'll see how it goes.

I talked to my contact, He is still in his first year of buisness..
he said for him to get the machines to do it and tooling costs alone to do the job would coust about a million dollers..

He would love to do it but he dosent have the resources to do something like that anytime soon..

I am sure a company like samco could do it.. anyone know how to contact them? pikey?
