Default Universal O2 sensor vs OEM O2 sensor

Is the only difference that you have to splice the wires together, are there any drawbacks to the universal one?
Thanks

**** now I am more confused than ever ...
I was going to just cut off the old sensor plug and use it on the new sensor ..So the plug connections would match up ...
Is there something wrong with this logic ???
