Another vote for AVC-R.

NEGATIVE:

- THe rpm/duty/speed and units of boost are my beefs as well.

POSITIVES

- Gear based boosts. ALL I can say is WOW. Phenomenal when you are hitting more than 300rwhp. It can transform the way the car launches and tracks.
- SOLID control of boost (using stock wastegate, lindseys wastegate, and tial 38 mm)
- Switch for dual maps. Again WOW. Tied in with the SMT6 it is a joy to flip between two MAPs.

Those features out weigh the negative by far. And once its set I throw the socalled 'UGLY' controller in the glove compartment and watch the pillar pod boost guage. You guys actually watch this thing while you drive? I keep my eyes on the track.

Yeah, I do agree with MichelleJD, it isnt easy to choose between them!

With my TurboSmart DualStage MBC, I get 15psi at around 4500rpm. Pretty good right? When I disconnect the TurboSmart MBC so the WG doesnt open up, I get 15psi at around 3220rpm with my vitesse stage 3!
Will any of the EBCs give me 15psi at around 3200rpm or will this be higher? Witch of them is best conserning spool up?

I hit peak boost (whatever I want to set it at) right at 3000rpm with my Blitz. The catch is every time you change the boost level with it, it needs one full throttle run to reset itself, and during that one run it hits slower. Not a big deal, as you shouldn't be monkeying with the boost level very often. Comparing before and after, the Blitz actually hits harder and faster than the Lindsey MBC did (not by much, but there was a noticeable difference). Even my mechanic (Tom Charlesworth) is very impressed with how hard and fast the boost comes on in my car, and he's pretty much the 944 God in the US.

Another vote for the Blitz-SBC-iD. I have the speed module as well, but have never bothered with the speed related boost control.

I does a good job pinning my T04e to 18 psi

I have the previous version of the Blitz SBC. Was recommended by a 930 guy on another board. I like it because the controller is very small and easy to hide. Watched Ebay for months and picked one up for $250.00. Solid boost control of my modded stock WG and holds 17 psi easy.
If I ever buy again, it will be Blitz...
Just another opinion to consider

Here's where I have mine mounted. Personally I love the look of the AVC-R. It looks very nice with the silver colored plastic mounted to the SS plate.

I think I paid ~$300 for mine, it was from a private party but still new in box. Someday I may to go a stand alone but I will still keep my AVC-R for boost control.

I like those pics of your car; the ApecI looks a little weird with the blue text and red buttons though. Is that something that can be selected (the color of display)?

The color cannot be adjusted. You can only adjust the contrast on the screen, and the auto-dim feature. The buttons on mine are actually more orange then red. Luckily I CAN adjust the color of my Kenwood deck to match the AVC-R hahaha

I realy do like the blitz! How is the Power Meter unit? Does it work? What more than different boost in different gear does it do? Does it show HP?

Anyone got a pict where they`ve installed the apexi avc-r? It does look nice, but its maybe a little to large for my taste.

I was thinking about putting mine in place of the ashtray or in the cassette holder. Any other ideas?

Mine is in the cassette holder. Does ANYONE have cassettes anymore? I removed the holder, cut a hole in the bottom (I can show you antime) and we ran the wiring under the carpet so it is invisible. Use some velcro and voila. We left enough of the wire that it can be pulled out for easy use and then just put back when done.

That's what David was telling me. BTW - he's coming by on Friday and we're gonna finish yanking the engine. You available this weekend?
