ok guys here is the deal. lets say say u have a bone stock 944 turbo the engine has seen better days and so has the interior. also your suspension is gone. if you had 15 grand to thow into it what would you do to make you car run and look like a dream agian.

I'd make sure it was in proper running condition. After that I'd do my best to make it a track car. Vitesse stage 2, full coilovers, billet A-arms, weltmeister sways, EBC, recaro race seats, lightweight carpet. This is all I can think of right now, I'm sure there is more.

15k is nothing compared to what you can spend. Especially when you are throwing good money after bad. Ask me how I know

Throwing 15k at a bad car will not get you very far. Figure after body, interior and engine work (getting it to the point where more power will not kill it), half the budget will be gone. Then there are the parts that get thrown aside and replaced with new items. Like rims, tires, suspension parts, exhaust. In the end, I think you would end up with a car that is similar to what a lot of people here have.

Now starting with a good car, where all the money is spent on upgrades, that's another story.

I had this same situation. I stuck way more into mine but I would go the same exact route again. I would first call Powerhaus and decide how much power I wanted. You only have fifteen so you want to stretch it as far as possible. A light weight 2.5 liter would be the way to go. About 400 hp and a warranty. They build pretty much bullet proof motors that are turn key and go and come with a warranty. Second, by going to them, they may work you a deal on upgrading your suspension as well. By then I would say 9-10 of it will be gone. Now you have the interior. If you are in TX there are a ton of upholstry shops that are extremely reasonable. The very busy shops in Vegas are run by Hispanic owners who barely speak english and do a hell of a job. I'm hispanic and I just took my Dad to interpret what I wanted. Cheap and great work. Now you'll have about 10-11 into it. With the 4-5 you have left over (I assume you would only do this to a rust free car), you decide on a great set of 18 inch wheels, which will be about 3, and put the other 2 towards a perfect paint job. So you'll need to save a few more unless you have some hookups on painters but you will then have a pretty much new car with enough hp to take most stock muscle cars and a motor that will last you over 100k. I only know this because I've helped a few people do this with their cars already. If you do decide, let me know and I will call Powerhaus on your behalf and make sure you get the very best deal. Otherwise, depends on your usage needs. Track?? Well ,the 15K will go pretty fast. Street? 15K can go a long way.

Since you know up front you are gonna beef up the car a lot, make sure the engine/clutch are ready for it. Tighten/freshen up the motor, at least all of your hoses/vac/boost lines.

Also, are you doing the work yourself???
