Default Ground Control

Anybody have theses?

http://www.ground-control-store.com/...hp/II=672/CA=6

The front struts on my '89 951 need to be replaced and I'm considering my options. I do plan on keeping the torsion bars on this car. Thanks.

I dunno about their shock, but they do good work for coilover conversions. I've tracked an integra with their perches and springs quite a few times. good stuf, and the Teg owns.

i do. I have the spring coil overs not the intire strut though. I have those springs with koni yellows and it is a awesome street set up even ask Special tool he went for a ride. You can get those "coil overs" at speed-6.com for like 220$

I'm interested in these for the strut assembly. A rebuilt replacement strut for my car is $400 each.

I'm new to the 951 so let me know if there are any other options for a '89 (M030 suspension). Thanks.

You would be better off buying a different suspension unless you were to go the route i did with koni yellows and those springs. But for 750$ a piece there are much better companies for suspension set ups.

You should ask what suspension to get more than if this suspension is worth it.

I beleive ground control utilizes a koni strut for that coilover, so it is good.

Ian,
It's 750 for the front pair. What other companies should I look in to? I'm looking to keep my suspension close to stock and don't want to mess w/ the rear at all. I just need a pair of front struts right now and the costs that I've been seeing is around $800 for a pair of rebuilt front strut assembilies. I have a '89 which has the M030 suspension.
Thanks,
Dean

TurboX- The camber plate and bump stops are extra, the $750 is just the struts and springs.

Okay folks. I'm about to pull the trigger on getting these. Any suggestions on what spring rate I should get? I have the M030 suspension on my car ('89) so I'm thinking 200# springs. It's a street car and I intend to keep the rear suspension stock. Would 250# be too much?

200 would be best if you dont want to understeer too much. Let us know how it goes. Wouldn't the shock be valved too stiff for 200 pd springs though? You may want to ask ground control about that. Make sure and post feedback when you have em installed.

Are the struts adjustable ?
- Probably less of an issue if they are well set up out of the box

Are the inserts replaceable ?

Looks like they are rebound adjustable only. You should find out how they are valved before you decide on spring rates. They might be the same basic koni inserts that paragon sells or they could be valved higher for track use.

Just did my own work ( using the paragon setup ) ..

Took the koni`s to a koni workshop and got them rebuilt with more progressive valves both bound and re-bound. using a 250lbs springs ..

Re-building the struts is alot easier than people think..

^^^ nice job.

I was looking into that option but it priced out at almost $900 for me to buy the inserts, bump stops, camberplates and I still had to do all the work myself. I'll give the GC units a try.

P.S. anyone interested in a set of '89 (M030) front strut assemblies complete w/ springs. Only 80,000 miles on them but one strut is leaking.
