My throttle cable was frayed at the TB cam so I replace it before it started sticking or broke. I would suggest you do the same thing.

The spring broke off on my car once, throttle didn't stick but the pedal sure got loose. Try rotating the TB cam by hand and see how it feels, it should be pretty firm and return back to closed position without any trouble.

Also check for interference from the turbo water pump. It's very close to the throttle cam, and if it slides in it's bracket, it will interfere with it.

Pretty sure that there arent any 951's with cruise control in the uk, my car has done this a couple of times as well and i am sure that it is something at the pedal causing it rather than at the throttle cam, but i havent driven my car in 8mths and i have a bad memory so who knows!!!

It sounds as though the the car has been jacked up or raised on a lift by the jacking pionts, this bends the floor under the accelerator pedal and can cause the pedal to stick on full throttle. to fix this hammer the floor back to its original position with a rubber mallet.

Default your car just wants to go fast

I guess your car is trying on its own to do what it was designed for...

also check the bushing under the accelerator for cleanliness. Mine got clogged with salt/dirt from not using floormats.

Have you had the car jacked up recently?

If so you may find the pedal has been slightly pushed up where the hinge is.

Tap round it with a rubber mallet.

If not check that the rod thats connected to the pedal is in the correct position, they sometimes move across and jam.
