Right, I'm getting feedback on modified 951s, which is more than you can do since you own a 944S2, last time I checked.

Wow, now that's really relevant. Are you in a bad mood today, or something? Newsflash: Nobody is forcing you to read this thread. This is a public forum and I can beat around the bush as much as I please.

If you don't like it, you're free to start your own thread complaining about it.

You're the one in the bad mood today (must be the spanish weather ?) : in your reply to my first post in this thread you eventually said my opinion was not helpful to you. Newsflash : If you don't like my opinion, don't read it, or at least try to ignore it. In any case there is no need to be agressive the way you are.
You complain that I'm biased against cabs, but you are clearly biased towards cabs. I respect your opinion, but don't pretend to say it's worth more than mine and don't suggest mine is not helpful on the sole basement I'm biased against cabs.

No matter if it's modified or not, enjoy your car. That's what they were built for !
Cheers

Edited to add : I'm sorry to see you have just added the following in your last post. I have never intended to be agressive like you, but you're going too far here.

For having taken part in several friends' 951 mechanical issues I think I have a word or two to say about those cars, unlike you who apparently - judging from most of your mechanical-related issues I happen to sometimes read from on Rennlist - can't seem to be able to tell the difference between a space saver wheel and a glovebox. Don't pretend to know better than me on 951s when you can't make your mind up even on a basic chipset. I hate to say this, but if you had some significant experience with even-so-slightly modified 951 you would not overreact the way you do

Priceless. And I'm the one in a bad mood... You can have the last (hypocritical) word. Bye.

Hi Luis,

Never just chips! Get a matched set from Guru or Vitesse = chips + 3.0 bar FPR + boost controller (approx $300, 1 hr labor). Then you will have a tested combination that will not hurt your engine, won't need tweaking and will give you all the "mods" you need for a long time.

Thanks Deitz!

Guess I should reconsider though, since I have a "holiday car" and it might not hold up to these basic mods.

Regarding the cab vs. coupe debate: Ya have to drive what ya brung!

Regarding the minimal 15 psi "chip kit" upgrade: it will waken a beast that has been hiding under your hood forever. Let the little beastie go! You will grin from ear to ear!

You can run 15psi all day long on pump gas Luis... I have Knock Block tuned in 18.5 psi on pump and ZERO detonation. So 15 is well safe with the right chip. The Guru chip / FPR / and Reliaboost is a pretty sweet first upgrade and will get you at least 50HP.

I know, I'm really tempted to see what it can do!

Heck, I'd be thrilled with half that much!

It's not just the HP increase, it's how early and suddenly it comes on. It's just...special!

I don't lay much rubber cuz I am Mr. Smooth on the clutch on starts and shifts, but under hard accel, the wheels start to break loose at the top end, right before I shift. Scary fast. With 255/17s and limited slip, no less.

That's just a stock non-S with the 18 psi chip kit. You should get similar results with 15 on your "S".

I would say try vitesse chips. I have heard nothing but good things about them. There is some bad blood about others. Good luck.

Luis, you can get chips no problem. The thing is, you'll then need to stay away from the internet for the rest of your life cos it's too tempting seeing what goodies are the latest things to have!
