And I haven't done my caster blocks yet. They're in the post from Paragon, so don't panic, They'll be on in less than a week!

Wheels look nice. BUT I'm not a fan of the yellow calipers, they dont match anything else on the car and seem out of place.

The brakes match the hose? What does that badge in front of the moulding say?

Looks great!

I LOVE the rims... are they hollow spokes? these cars really need an 18" in the rear... i think perfect would be a 17x8 front w/245/40/17 & 18X10 rear w/285/35/18.... that rear fender area needs filling out- the wheels need to come out more & the RD needs to be increased, as well as rim diameter & car needs lowering... each one, just a touch... your car is a GREAT example... you've got the rims & it looks like the car's been lowered a touch- not sure if you spaced your wheels or not (offset?) but it LOOKS great back there- what size tires...? Also, the yellow calipers are ok.... I can see them going either way....

Cheers Guys,

They are hollow spokes. Picked 'em up for a song on Saturday. Must have been an early Easter thingy!. IIRC, They're ET50 rear, and ET49 front. I wrote the part numbers down somewhere, and the bit of paper's disappeared!

It's amazing how I get 18's on, and the comments about the yellow calipers come out!. I've had them that colour since the gt2(?) with it's yellows, and no-one has ever commented. I'm still torn myself. The under bonnet is blue highlights (Vaccum & so-on), and I wanted to try to keep the exterior as "mono" (I know it can't be on a red car, but you know what I mean) as possible.

I think Robby may be right about a couple of small spacers in the rear. Maybe 5mm or so. I never really noticed it without looking at that picture again. Cheers dude.

Danny, The caster blocks (from a 968) are recommended by Porsche if you go for 17's. They actually say don't go for 18's at all! It's to do with the load from the lower profile tyre going into the aluminium A-arms.

The 16's will be for sale, so if anyone wants 'em (and don't mind paying shipping from the UK!!!!) just let me know!. They'll be going on ebay tonight.

Peckster, What badge?

Mike- actually, I thought your's looked really good, but, after looking a little more, I think some small spacers would make it perfect... I have some 1/8" steel spacers- would like to have them aluminum, but.... they're just small enough to be able to get by w/out new, longer, bolts- if you go to 1/4" (~6.4mm) you'll need longer studs... actually, I have a pair of 1/4" aluminum spacers I bought from Karl (RE) for $50- I'd be glad to sell them since I don't need them now.... I DID check them on my car though, &, was not compfortable using them w/stock bolts... bolts were just a hair too short for safety IMO....

what size tires are you running front & rear? What widths are the wheels? those are my favorite looking wheels on our cars- they weigh a little more than Fikses, etc, but, they look better.... it's always a trade-off, but, if I found the right deal on those, I'd jump on them & NEVER look back.... congrats!

Robby,

I just ordered some spacers from a Porsche "specialist". He assures me they'll fit with no special bolts etc... We'll see when they get here! IIRC, they were 6mm.

Tyre sizes I'd have to check (and its raining, so I'm not going out now!) but IIRC 265 rear and 225 front. They're 10s and 8s. Weight wasn't really a big issue for me, but it was nice to find out they were hollowspokes after I picked 'em up. I emptied the garage over the weekend, and found a 13"x5 wolfrace alloy for my triumph. Even it was heavier than the hollows!

Mike- not trying to scare you, but, 6mm is getting pretty thick for stock bolts- when I tried 1/4", which is just barely over 6mm, there was no way I would have done it w/out longer bolts... anyway, just letting you know- these cars aren't perfect- none of the measurements, etc, are for any of these parts either, so, I wouldn't say "never" until I had the parts in hand.... good luck either way...

Also, as for not using 18's- I really don't see how this would honestly affect anything.... 968 casters should be fine when you get them.,... even w/18's... I wouldn't worry about it unless you lowered the car a whole lot....
