Good News! Bad News!
Bad News: I'm not sure how many of you are aware of this, but Best Products/Pro-M the manufacturer/supplier of 99% of the MAFs used on the 951/944 are out of business. No other company is in sight to fill the vacuum. The only other company charges 3 to 4 times as much for their sensors.. So once the on-hand MAFs are gone, there is no telling when some will be available.
Good News: We have very few units in stock! If you have been contemplating an upgrade better to move fast before they are all gone. At the moment, no MAF kits will be sold unless purchased as part of a complete kit.

I have tried to figure out MAF sensors (there are so many types) and after seeing a pro M sensor it appears to be a stock sensor (Hitachi?) in a chromed tube. (thus the ground down serial/part numbers) I dont know what other electrical tweeks there are IN the sensor but I would imagine a well educated company can make the contacts to have a new company build these to our spec.
John let see the power of rennlist get a new supplier.

The 944/951 is prabably less than 0.5% of the market. Already looked into it, and initial investment is in the $0.5-1MIL.. It's not as simple as it appears... Anyway I think someone will fill the void, but this will not help someone wanting a kit yesterday...

Looked into a Speed Density system back in early 90s. MAP has many drawback on the 951, that's how it was then and will always be. I would rather do no business vs. bad business! MAP still not in the cards for me..

John,
Makes me feel good that I went and bought my turbo kit when I did.
Don't most standalone ECU's (Motec, Haltech, etc.) use a MAP sensor? What do you see as the downside to using one?
