You can just drill out the spot welds and attach it with nuts and bolts.

Yeah, the 931 panel was really my primary choice for that very reason. I'm just not sure how it would look on the fiberwerks nose. If it looks good, then that by far is the 'best' choice, but if it's not too apealing I may just try making my own.

I doubt GT racing would make one for the N/A because who needs a vented header panel with no intercooler behind it?

What is involved in making a fiberglass panel? Anybody know of any good guides I could read through and get a feel for what will be required?

oh. that was a good one. wow.........

if by 'fits' you mean "fits until you go above 80mph and then it likes to BLOW OFF THE CAR AND WHACK THE ROOF"

after-market / race fitment parts are just that. race parts. yeah they can be made to work but need some extra help.

i for one will shortly be cutting my hood to make an exit path for the air - i'm CONVINCED that the air coming in the vented panel is doing jack-$h1t right now because it really has nowhere to go...

he he he I think you got the wrong end of the stick...

I said they have fitment issues, someone said its cos they are not designed for the 951 shape, I said they are supposed to bolt on (as you quoted above)... *but they are still pieces of junk*

well, don't get me wrong - dave and mike were VERY straightforward, it was the MORONS at the body shop who put it on with only 2 screws that failed to take into account that whole "air pressure" thing

The 931 did not have an intercooler behind the vented header panel.

The reason for the vented header panel on the 931 was for additional cooling, not an intercooler.

I saw some where a panel that had almost a lip opening. Kinda like Mic Jagger with his mouth open, but I don't know where I saw this. I want one if some one can tell me where to find it.

I bought a vented nose panel from Getty Design. They are highly praised for the quality of their parts, and even theirs does not fit perfectly out of the box. I think it has to do with shrinkage of the resin. The mold is made fiberglass as well, which compounds the fitment problem.

I have yet to fit & install the thing (I'm still putting the rest of the car back together). If I had it do do over I'd be inclined to modify the OE piece, but I've gone & sold mine, so . . .

We need a "throw up" smiley. That ruins the lines of the more beautiful side of the car.
