The most logical solution is to make a bonnet vent
just after the IC & make somekind of duct to guide'
the air out.

I have seen some real heath robinson jobs. The 968 duct would be an appropriate alternative... I really want a 924 GT hood scoop to finish the look. But cant bring myself to do it yet.

With a little modifications it should be possible to make something similar, shouldn't it?

Directing it downwards...that would make it rather exciting to drive it fast,I think...squeezing more air under the car isn't exactly what you'd want. Rather the opposite.

Anything's possible, given enough skill, time or money.

I'm with you. More air under the car equals more lift. There's a reason Porsche vents up......

ok guys,

I've got the message. Just thought it would be a quick and easy way to direct the heat elsewhere.

Could you not just get the dimensions and cut a 951 hood and put it in. That is if you can buy the piece.

See my posts in the 951 forum from several months ago, then using the Dash01 moniker. (Do a search using the keyword " gill ".) The 951 hood has adequate space for a NACA vent or two, turned around backwards. That's right: a NACA scoop, when turned around backwards, is a pretty efficient vent, and the fast (and therefore low pressure) air flowing over the front part of the hood will suck (venturi principle) air through the intercooler and up and out over the hood, along with unwanted engine heat. The car will ride a bit lower, as the bubble of air jammed beneath the nose and under the hood will be relieved, as would be Bernouli lift on the hood: Less lift on the nose. Better engine cooling. Lower intercooler temps. Less overall drag. More power.

I have not yet done this because a). too busy with other stuff, and b.) too chicken to cut my hood.
