I´m thinking of building this, i have calculated the cost for it and it will cost me about 110$ in parts
But i´m thinking of skipping the one-way valve, i don´t think it´s necessary if i bleed out the air with the regulator. (there can´t be any pressure between the wastegate and the regulator if it´s connected so that it bleeds to the atmosphere)
Byt if you use a pressure regulator that cuts back the air not bleed out then you need a one-way valve to release the pressure between the wastegate and the regulator.
I hope that somebody understand my thoughts

Well I reinstalled the one way valve this past weekend. It really seems to help the spool time between 2nd. & third, as in reduces that spool time to zero.

Hi Toddk,

pressure gauge. The thing I like about it is that it is only
about half the size of the Norgren regulator.

I think you guy's missed this. I posted it way back. This is exactly what your trying to build. Why would you want to build it for a $100 bucks when you can get it in such a small package.

I have trouble understanding why anyone would pay over $100 for any MBC when you still have to deal with different boost under different weather etc. Say what you want about "ricers" but IMHO they don't cheap out when it comes to stuff like this.

we have a pretty big engine, pretty small turbo.. whats up with all the lag?
waiting till about 3k to make any good power just dosent make sence to me..

The cars has a manual boost controller (dual setting turboXS)
and an autothority Mass air and chips (but i dont know which, I am assuming autothority)
what is the CV? (my best wild guess is control valve?) But I still have no clue as to where that is or what it looks like..
Adjsuting the boost controller is really only helping me make more boost not much lower
I will pick up one of those tial wastegates asap

Well that is pretty cool then & Yea I didn't understand that. Do you know anyone that's used one?
I am a firm believer that the bleed type of boost controller is the best for a dual port wastegate. I will explain.
A dual port wastegate with a bleed type mbc that has a 1 bar spring will not bleed exhaust on buildup because boost pressure passes through the mbc to the top port of the wastegate and helps hold pressure down on the spring. the pressure that goes through the mbc gets added to the spring rate to maintain the setpoint. 14 psi sideport and 20 top port will give you 6 psi of clamping force above the spring rate. holding the wastegate valve closed with greater force than just the spring rate alone. The reason why you are seeing faster spoolup than some others here. Is because of the smaller turbo/turbine you are using. If you don't believe me try hooking up your wastegate in a dual port configuration. I will bet that you will get the same if not faster spoolup.
Something I haven't tried yet that I think will help on spoolup is to tap a port on the discharge of the turbo for the mbc. There is more pressure before the intercooler. This would help to have more pressure on the top port than the side port witch is manifold pressure. To4b's have a tap right on the turbo.
Plus: If by chance your line splits or something goes wrong with your regulator and holds back boost to the wastegate. I can bet that you will blow your motor from overboosting. In a DP configuration. If the line splits the spring will save you.

Actually any faster from the way it is now would be undesirable. It's now almost too fast as it is, but I would be intersted is seeing how it is supposed to be set up under the dual port mode? Do you simply hook the line from the boost controler to the top of the wg and a line directly from the intake to the side?
