other than that, it is very adjustable... can have a nice, smooth roll-in to the boost, a mean spike, whatever you like. The single best part of it is the adjustability.
Other than that... i was able to get about 2psi more than the reliaboost that i briefly tried. (not a fan of the reliaboost)

That's what I was hoping to hear!!
Why did you not us about this sooner>????
With the reliaboost where were you getting full boost?

reliaboost- full boost came in about 3800rpm in 3rd or 4th... same load with the home made deal, full boost was there at 3krpm in 3rd or 4th.
Actually.... in first gear, it would come in pretty good, too... good enough to loose traction entirely too easy.
That's the beauty of this controller, though... can dial in not only how much boost, but how agressive the boost curve is. I started taking it all a step further, had boost limited in first gear via an electric two-way air valve... but that was a work in progress...
I'd actually been playing with one of these before i got my 951... just didnt mention it here as i was under some belief that p-car guys are not at all build-it-yourself kinda guys. Obviously i was wrong with a great number of them.

Jfrahm,
Try it & let us know. Many times theory & reality does not hand go
in hand. For those who already have a Reliaboost/Accuboost at hand,
you can built a version using the Relaiboost/Accuboost but you must
block off the bleed hole & use the PCV valve.
Yes Dhallilama, it works

Well, I installed with out the check valve just to see how it would run and fit under the hood. So far, NO DIFFERENCE then the reliaboost.
I hope the check valve makes a big difference or I jsut wasted trips to the part store and 60$.
dhallilama: how do you have your system adjusted?? I noticed that the clockwise/coutnerclockwise sems to be backwards.
I adjsuted the relief valve (1st one) all the way in both directions. The best I got was boost actualy later then the reliaboost??????

What about using the Reliaboost 1st, then the regulator after??
I.e. the reliaboost in plce of the relief valve.

my relief valve is set to not open 'till about 12psi... so i get tons of spool without any pressure getting to the wastegate at all... until it hits 12.
the adjusment: the **** is about in the middle. dont really remember off hand which way was which... (big help i am )
as far as it not making a difference.... make sure it's all set up correctly, as anyone i know using it is quite happy with them. Check out Audiworld's forums, search "boost machine". Dozens of guys using them there with the same results.
as far as using the reliaboost first... someone on here did that. dont know what their experience was with it. i had a reliaboost, but sold it to finance this thing. never tried it.
I'm wondering... does the check valve operate properly? like, try blowing into it, and play with the ****. seriously. i did with mine, discovered which way the **** adjusted...
the check valve is the key to the whole thing... if it's not working properly, the boost controller is gonna suck like most other MBC's out there.
if my car sells this weekend... half thinking of building a 240sx with a turbo... playing with the boost controller on that (and seeing just how much bost i can run before blowing stuff up... nissans are a lot cheaper to blow up than p-cars... and i want lotsa boost).

OK, just to be sure, which way is the check valve supposed to be;
allow air to flow AWAY from the wastegate correct??

Away from the WG is correct. If you don't let the pressure in the WG escape when you let off the throttle. It won't close which means you're going to be dumping power when you don't necessarily want to be next time you try to make boost. (It will close eventually of course unless it's very well sealed but it would be very slowly) Obviously you only want the WG open when it absolutely has to be or what's the point of having a turbo in the first place?

yup... away from the WG... also, if it was the other way around, it would actually allow pressure to bypass the boost controller all together...

Hi Todd,
The regulator must be before the relieve valve. The reason why
this controller allows better boost threshold is because you can
control the pressure that is acting on the relieve valve. Without
the regulator, air will start to creep through the relieve valve
way before the set boost target.

AHHHH. Ok, I thought the relief valve was first, then the regulator. At least that is the way I thought I read it and/or the pics of the system.
I will switch around and see if that helps.
