Purchasing Fikse wheels
#16
Any Interest in buying used (perf cond.) Fikse FM10's?
Before you buy new:
I've got a set of 8.5 and 10 x 17 Fikse FM10's for sale. email me and I'll send detailed pix or someone let me know if they can post these.
The wheels are a perfect fit for my 89 951 using 225/45 and 255/40

My FM-10's were same sizes as Jerome's. 8.5x17 ET50 front, 10x17 ET56 rear. Pictured tires were 245/40 and 275/40 Toyo T1-S. No rubbing issues, even on 100% bone stock suspension. Mine didn't have the fully anodized finish and they were a PITA to keep clean. One might have a chance of keeping them clean if you have ready access to a powerwasher. Never had a problem with wheels other than bending a lip during one pretty hard "off track event". Fikse centers are forged, but the rim halves are not.
Choose BBS when I bought 18's because I wanted a fully forged wheel. Stronger and much lighter for the same size.

Well, I sold the C2's and I've decided to go for some C2 turbo three piece with michellin pilot PS2's
10 inch in the rear and 8.5 in the front. I think I'll stay closer to the original porsche look.

Here is a pic of my FM-5's. They are 17" in diameter and 8" wide up front and 10" wide in the rear, and for their size they are quite light! If I had the opportunity to go with the anodization I would have, but they wheels were already on the car when I bought it, so polishing is recquired, but Simicrome works wonders.

My vote are FM/10s. I love BadAss's car. I think they look a little more period-correct than the FM/5s. If you like the look of the 10s the LMs from BBS are very similar. Spokes are just a tad straighter.
Dudes, if you think cleaning mesh wheels like these are hard, you are not using the right tools. Spend $30 and buy yourself some decent wheel cleaning tools. Takes all of five minutes to clean all four of mine. You will be able to get in the mesh grooves faster than a jackrabbit and do the nasty in no time.
