I will soon be getting a GT-30 on my 951.

What do I need? An oppertunity fell in my lap and I cant say no even though it is not what I originaly planned.

I know I will need the following
MAF
Injectors (what size, type and impedance)
Maf Tuner of some kind (recomendations)
Wideband (I have a tech edge)

Any fitment issues?
Exhaust?
clutch (I have the turbo cup in there now)
Intercooler upgrades

also what Power are you getting?
what RPM do you make full boost?
Boost level?
Trim of you turbo?

Thank you!!!!!!! This is a huge help!!!

Firstly, you got to makesure that you're up for the job.
Check out my GT25 & Edman951 GT30 install postings
& than decide. Lots of work & mods, not direct bolt on.
If you think you can handle it than the next step would be
other upgrade parts that are required to complete the package.
BTW, what's the specs of the GT30 that you're looking at ?

Question here, since you guys are funning GT turbos, these are FULL Garrett GT turbos correct? (as in compressor and hotside) that is why mods are needed to make them fit? or are you talking about just the GT turbo compressor bolted up to the KKK hotside??? because the KKK would bolt up........unless the GT turbos do not come in parts (as in compressor sold seperately).

I have a full GT30 setup. You need to modify your crossover pipe, downpipe, your turbo engine mount, your oil lines, your water lines and your intake just to name a few.

Nice!

Do you have the "regular" GT30 with 57/76 mm C-wheel in a ported shroud .60 A/R house?

What hot side do you have?

Do you have any "spooling rpm´s", at what rpm do you have 1 bar of boost?

Are you satisfied with spooling, respons and so? Any coments on this?

Corleone:
Hsg. A/R 0.70
Wheel Trim 56
Model TO4S
Wheel Dia 2.25/3.00
Horse Power 510
Comp Flow lbs 55
Hsg. A/R 0.82
Wheel Trim 84
Wheel Dia 2.16/2.36
Its the real deal . I am currently getting maximum boost at 3500rpm but that is due to the Milledge stage 3 cam. I have already swapped that cam for a cam with less duration. That seemed to have helped spoolup quite a bit but I know I will lose some up top. Its a street only car so down low is more important to me. I used to start spooling at 1500-1700 rpm.
I think the top end of these turbo's is just amazing and they hit very hard once on boost. I can run with 996tt all day long. This is with 52# Bosch injectors at 3.5 bar at idle, APE MAF with custom burnt chips. I will be getting the car dyno-tuned again soon.

Raj,
But you could get say a GT30 cold side and bolt that up to a KKK centre setion and hot side right? say a KKK #8?? Basically like the 'usual' turbo upgrades (TO4E with KKK, TO4B with KKK, 60-1 HIFI with KKK and so on).

Thanks!

You have the A/R .70 house without ported shroud I belive. Do you have a good respons with your .82 A/R hsg? It is similar to a KKK 11 cm2 which is pretty big.
Please let us know the numbers when you have dynoed!

Hos,
Do some research before you ask a question like this.
It is not a matter of whether you can put a KKK hotside
onto a GT BB Turbo. The problem lies on the CHRA. The
GT turbos has a very narrow CHRA which cannot be
mounted on the engine mount without modifying the
the mount. The Garrett non BB hybrids that you read about
has wider CHRA similar to the KKK's so mounting those
turbos is not a big issue. Besides why would you want to
use a KKK hotsides on a GT BB turbo whose hot housing
design is much more advance in the first place.

Thanks guys,
I cant tell you all too much just yet but I was asked by a company to use my car for a prototype. The work will be top notch and will solve a bunch of the currnet downfalls of the gt series.

J chen it is a GT30 70 R i dont know all of the specs yet. Also do you know the titles of the post on the install or a webpage for you and Edman951's install?
Again Thanks guys and

Raj,

I know that the T04S .7 A/R housing is compatible with the GT30R cartridge - this turbo is typically set up with the T04E .6 A/R ported shroud housing. Did you use your turbo with the ported shroud T04E before stepping up to the T04S or did Chris sell it to you that way?

Hi azmi,
Search under GT25 install as well as post made by Edman951.
You would have lesser work to do by going GT30 if the cold side
is TO4E size. If it's TO4S, youll have much more work cut out
to do cause the TO4S housing is huge. Look at the pics that I
posted & you'll understand.
