Rumbling when wet?
Hi, Any chance any one might know why my car makes a very load grumbling from under the car that is dependendent on speed when the roads are wet?
When its dry i hear nothing and she crusies just fine ..but when wet its like my whole drive train seems to change.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

No idea. Check tire pressures? Could be tires... it's cooler when it rains typically, maybe the pressure drops enough to cause the tires to ride differently?
Rain/wet roads shouldn't make a bit of difference.

Thanks for your reply, i will certainly check the tires out. However the grumbling seems to be like from the engine or maybe the torque tube. Would there be somewhere where the water may be getting in causing this sound to happen. Also the sound seems linked to a more sluggish performance with the rumbling being more present as you put your foot down.

I would suggest its something about your driving style in the wet over the dry that is the influencing factor, perhaps you are in lower revs more often in the wet and instead of downshifting you accel from lower revs, and the syptoms are more pronounced... ??? Just a thought...

Thanks for your input.
The engine rumbles in and out of gear. Just the other night it rained on the way home and as soon as the roads are wet the car starts to get this very bad rumbling. The rumbling seems to be transfered thoughout the whole car and is very audible. Its like the cars drive train missalines and that its out of balance and causes this sound vibration throughout the car. Any other input would be greatly appreciated
