Default OT: Leaving AutoThority after 13 years

The time has come to say goodbye, I have been looking around for a new job for a while now. Almost on a whim i checked with Ferrari of Washington to see if they were hiring, the receptionist said they wern't but i could come in and fill out an application and drop off a resume. This wasn't good enough for my wife, so she pulls up their web-site, and sends an e-mail to the gen. manager. The next day I get a call from the Service manager asking me to bring in a resume and come in for an interview. Spent a couple of hours checking out the shop and talking to the serv. mgr. and the shop foreman, it went very well. Sent them a list of references the next day and then a couple of days later I get another call asking me to come back for another chat. Anyway, they offered me a job. The shop is great, it's a brand new facility, you could eat off the shop floor, they are booking service work several weeks in the future and they support a couple of race teams and a few privateers, so there will be no shortage of work. I'm so excited about this job that I'm almost jumping out of my skin. I probably won't have the space to save a lot of the stuff I have stockpiled over the years, so I may put a bunch of stuff up for sale in a short while. I still own and drive the 951 so I will still spend some time on Rennlist, but I will not be working on the cars, so it will be less time that before. Anyway it's been real and wish me luck, if you would please

Congrats & Good Luck. The bad thing about your
new job is that it's gonna make you fantasize
much more. I've always dream about owning
a Dino 246 GT.

a great facility for sure. my g/f and i went out there after being prompted by an ad in the NYT inviting anyone out for an open-house and oogle session for the (then) new maserati cambiocorsa. the staff was extremely nice and even tho we were NOT buying, it definately put maserati on my list of 'want-to-have' cars - not to mention fosters a nice, fuzzy feeling about that dealership. when/if i'm ever ready to buy maserati/ferrari, they will definitly get a shot at my business.

congratulations on the new job - looks like a great place!

Congratulations Mark! Sounds like a great gig. I love my 951 but also really admire those beautiful Italian machines and have been eyeing 308GT4's. As you know, your knowledge of the 951 has benefitted many rennlisters (saved me from buying a new DME) and I hope you remain part of our community.

Best of luck and if you can post some pics of the facility!
