My geuss is your probably going to want to get a custom programed set. I doubt your going to find someone with the exact setup as yours, and selling their guru, or vitesse chips. good luck however.

I was hoping to at least find a disgruntled former guru owner who wanted to recoup some money they had invested.

Im in almost the same boat. I am going with custom chips for a start, then a fuel controller. I think it would be very hard to come across someone selling those exact chips. You will most likely have to buy them new.

There are no disgruntled Guru chip owners running 18psi. Danno won't let you go lean, which makes for many happy customers. Just go buy some from him. They are worth it.

Eyal,
I am willing to buy direct from the source, but since so many have talked about changing to vitesse from Guru, I thought that they would be some used ones available. I guess I was wrong. Already contacted both dealers.

Biggles,

Danno's 18psi chips is the best you can get.
$295 includes DME/KLR chips set for 18psi, 3-BAR Bosch FPR, Reliaboost-1 MBC, and Wastegate Shims.
Save up for this kit, it really is worth every penny.

Edit: Biggles, you can get the DME/KLR chips even cheaper, Danno will subtract the cost of the MBC/Shims/FPR since you already have them

When I asked Danno for a Guru DME chip to try and figure out why my MPGs were so low, he sent it to me, and it was at my house within a couple days.

Both Vitesse and Guru make great chips. My opinion:

Guru are probably more plug and play, suitable for sotck or lightly modded cars. Danno knows his stuff and writes chips to keep you in the safe zone.

Vitesse chips are more for the people that can take the time for him to tune it with you. You'll probably have a few revisions along the way, but he does do it on a car by car basis. His chips, if made for one of his kits, should stick with the kit.

I'm currently running Technodyne modifed APE K27 chips and I hate them. Both these vendors have told me what they can do, and I still don't know who I will go with. Motec might also get a call....

This is a FALSE statement. Vitesse chips for the AFM are standard and do not require any fine tuning. PLug & play.. We NEVER agree to burn multiple chips, when we think that fine tuning is needed the customer is informed up front.. The last thing I want to do is to be sending out chip revisons just to get the car tuned.. Never done it, and will not do it.. We do custom software/tuning based on the requirements..

Some of your chips are. Since he has a non-stock, non-vitesse turbo, you'll have to do some tuning. Just the same as we discussed about my car. Since there are a number of non-stock variables, we probably won't hit it in one shot. Guru would be the same, but like APE, most of the chips will work good enough.

Just a compliment John that you will take the time to make it right.
