Jason B - the car is beautiful. It wouldn't mind seeing a couple hundred more pictures! What is the diameter of the tubing, 1.5?

Jason J - you can have a custom cage built to similar specs to 968TRS. It will be easier than trying to find a prebuilt cage anywhere close to that. That is what I did. Mine is a close facsimile but I'm missing the extra bracing which links the suspension points.

Eric

Ski,
I definitely didn't miss that one. We definitely need some more info on that car, too.

Thanks, again, Jason. You've given me a ton of things to think about for my new rollbar.

I agree David. Now, when I get back down to Corpus I hope I get a chance to drive ONE of the TWO that are back there; 1 soft top and 1 hard top.

Hee hee, I wondered if someone would catch that. At 73 and sunny today in Corpus it would be a great day to get it out. I have a 67 GT500 as well that's undergoing a pretty complete restoration right now...should be ready by December. Both Dad and 2 yr. old Perry are ready to take it for a spin. 428, .030 over, 10.5-1, pretty healthy cam and a good bit of carburetion... should make some good power.

Damn!!! Just for that, you should give everyone 10% off of Paragon!

That is a motor. Get some pics of the car itself, I would love to see it. Actually, when it is done, side-by-side with the 968TS would be awesome.

Hey, after what this is costing, I may need to RAISE prices by 10%....LOL. The 67 is pretty sad looking right now...no windows, sanded down etc. I'll post a pic of the 68 shortly.

All this talk has led me to believe that a custom cage is probably the best solution, with not much additional cost compared to a bolt-in brand.

I'll be looking around at builders and get something done over the winter...Sounds like $2K to get the job done correctly.

Jason,
You have reached the right conclusion as far as cages go. If you are looking for ideas I can send pictures of the custom cage Mitch Piper www.pipermotorsports.com built for me. I couldn't be more happy

Jason, Mike isn't that far from you...may be worth the drive to let someone that's already done a 944 tackle your cage.

Mike,

That would be really great! I'm contacting Mitch. If you could pull up any photos to help I would appreciate it!

Did you consider the Sparco seat that has head protection, like the Recarro?
