Damage ............................Broke crankshaft in half in the middle of bearing #1 - which also damaged block and cilinders 1 and 2. Crank falure seems to have been caused by faults in crank regrind by PO. Car driven virtually solely on Nurburgring Nordschleife for the last 4 years.

The corrugated steel in the headgasket was corroded more than it should after 2.5 years allowing coolant to seep into and fraying the #4 WF ring, eventually weakening the narrowest spot to breakage under high boost. Oh yes, and a clogged water injection filter. Also found a slightly bent #2 connecting rod, which might be prior damage.
