944 2.5 Turbo VS 944 2.8 Turbo *Video*
Well after the AutoX on Sunday, dmoffitt and I headed out with some people to get some food. We agreed it would be fun to see how my 15psi light-weight '86 would stand up against his 2.8L light-weight. Well needless to say, he killed me, but I thought i'd share the video. Neither of us could really hear my horn so Dave just waited for me to start moving before he went. I believe we were in second gear when we started, though I may be wrong.

Funny someone should mention a k27/6. My k27/6, 55cc siemens, Vitesse chips and maf are for sale in the classifieds. I have all dyno sheets. 330/347 RWHP/RWTQ. In case anyone wants to liven up their car a little with a setup that is proven, no stumbles and no bull****. $1500

it was awesome meeting you mike! i was running approx .9-1 bar at the time after the autox (since i kept loosing traction coming out of a turn and spooling) but i was impressed by your car's ability to keep up at first nonetheless. of course, as mentioned, i couldn't hear the beeps that well (the camera could though, i was probably deaf from being in that car all day haha) and just went after i saw you started, and we obviously both shut down at a very prudent, safe speed - from a standing start, which wouldn't have been good for either of our transmissions, or from a roll, which would be sooooo far from legal and woulda attracted far too much attention, well, it would have been a different story - but this does confirm one thing, that while the top-end power is just brutal, i'd like to spool a little earlier. no. a LOT lol i can see this being an issue at the track, either from the somewhat-unpredictable nature of the lag / latency helping to upset the car exiting a turn, or from a competitive standpoint later on, of the wait to start out-accelerating or passing someone, but for now, for learning, i'm going to leave well enough alone.
