The last time I got pulled over (its been nearly 3 years) I had literally just read online the day before that when you get asked why you were pulled over, you DONT want to admit why, becasue you're basically admitting your guilt (which they write on the ticket), which is why when I got pulled the next day, I told the officer I had no idea why- he was writing me a ticket anyway, so figured I may as well be a smartass to him...

This year I didn't get pulled over at all but, last year I got pulled over 3 times. Twice I was let go. The other time he wrote me two tickets. One for no front license plate and one for 82 in a 65 zone. Oh well that's what lawyer's are for. I got off and it wasent but, like 200 bucks total for both ticket's. So not that bad.

lol...yeah I hear ya. BTW I never had the chance to say welcome home on that thread you started awhile back. Welcome home and I am glad to see you are still in one piece. I am very sorry to hear about your engine troubles.
I remember you buying that motor from that other rennlist user guy and it turned out to go bad. I know his name started with a A but, don't remember the rest.lol.

I bought it from Turby, but it wasn't his fault. My wastegate was installed backwards by a Porsche shop, and my car hit full boost and broke a piston on the first test drive after it was installed. I've just had bad luck with my car. That backwards WG caused me a lot of problems until we figured it out.

Actually, you cant use the excuse at all. This is constantly debated on truck forums where a lifted truck with 37" tires or larger cannot get speedo gears large enough (yeah, in some cars you can actually fix the problem).
Further, he asked if the speed is determined by the rotation of the tires. Since the 944 does not use wheel speed sensors to send a signal to the speedo the answer is, no, per se.
Addtionally, your speedometer isnt off 10MPH, it is off X percent. If it were off 10MPH it would read 10 when the car wasnt moving, if you catch my drift. It might be off 10 at 80 and 25 at 135.
Lastly, I have to call BS on 180mph runs. The car needs to make gobs of torque to do that. As you accelerate the force exerted on the car by wind increases exponentially. Not saying it cannot be done, I am saying it is highly unlikely.

I wasn't being literal when I said it was off 10mph... I dont see why a 951 can't do 180 when makinf 400+ ft lbs/tq

Well matt you are right on some stuff and wrong on other's. I never said it was true I said you could tell it to a cop and he wouldn't know the difference. I said he won't know anything about porsche's so you can tell him whatever(meaning he wont know enough to prove you wrong so you can use the excuse and get away with it....duh).
About the tq. Maybe you dont know this, above 125mph tq doesn't mean ****. It's about hp. Tq is what moves you off the line and matters till about 120 or so then it just matter's how much hp you make not how much tq.
As far as you calling bs on 180mph run's rage might have a problem with that as he has seen nearly 190mph with GPS.
I hope this clears up something.

I actually didn't realize I was doing it. These were the conditions. It was very late on a stretch of highway. About 70 degrees. I have 265/35 18's. SO2's. Front splitter from AIR. Twin Turbo mirrors. Crazy Powerhaus motor and stock tranny with short throw. Speedo was just redone with a 220 mph reading from North Hollywood Speedo so I know it was dead on. Problem was it got there so fast (570 lb. torque) that I didn't realize I was going as fast as I was. I didn't want to take my eyes off of the road. A GSXR 750 bike and I gave a friendly race from 120 mph. He initially took my by about 4 to 5 car lengths and I then just kept pulling closer to him. I caught and passed him at 175 so I decided to see what the car could do. When I stupidly decided to take my eyes off the road I saw a definite 190, so definite it may have said 191. Too fast to look hard. RPM's were just under 7,000, not sure exactly here for the same reason. May have been 6800 or 6900. Either way, I had a considerate amount of pedal left but the RPM's stopped me. So in conclusion, a taller fifth gear would definitely help me out and we're all a little nutz...

I dont do my stuff on any road anywhere. I do it on a deserted tollway.
Rage's rev limit is about 7200 I think. I will have to get a mobile GPS myself sometime to test and see how off my speedo is.
