BLoody hell!
After running down this thread, my 150+ at Daytona with a bog stock 951 drive train seems slug-like.

At least my 150+ was derived from GPS rather than an optimistic speedometer. There certainyl are some impressive numbers here!

Tony, where do you get your car serviced? I work at IMA Motorsport in Fairfax, but know a couple guys at Intersport and HBL (I'm guessing you take it to Intersport?).

I've done 180 on the speedo, 176 on the gps just last week.
The car has 15psi chips/mbc/shims/testpipe
106k on the motor.

At the redline in our cars with stock tranny and stock rolling radius of the tires the speed should be about 164 Mph or 262 Kph. The speedo in the 951 is pretty optimistic. If you have stock ratios and you aren't at the redline in 5th, you aren't over 164 Mph.

JustinL you hit on one important factor, tire diameter. Anyone with larger than stock diameters, effectively changing gear ratios, can obtain these speeds easily. They just won't observe that on the speedo's unless they're recalibrated... FWIW

I have never had my car over 130, All this talk got me pumped up so I went out this morning
and took it up to an indicated 160 mph at a hair below 6k and it still was pulling pretty good.
I think I have my wife talked into going out one morning and snapping a picture or 2.
I'll see how much it has then

Haha, who is going to be the first to end up in jail for doing 160 down the road?

the top speed for a stock 951 with stock tire diameter is 171 or 172mph

the top speed for a chipped 951 (6800rpm redline) with stock tire diameter is 180mph

Speed Calculator

Here is a link to a speed/RPM calculator with the stock gearing for our cars and my tires at 255/45/17 in the rear. You can fiddle with tire profiles, rev-limit and gear rations to get theoretical speeds.

I am getting my car this week (HOPEFULLY tommorow, Monday). It cool if I stop by this week? I would love to know where this road is... I did my top speed run on 264, which probably isnt the safest place....

There is a long , pretty smooth stretch with no cross roads and mainly woods on either side.
