Top speed would not change as long as the transmission is 'stock'. Even if you have 400,500 or even 600whp top speed will remain the same due to the gear ratios revs etc. However, reaching top speed and the sheer acceleration would be greatly improved though.
Just my .02 cents.

If you desire to increase speed, you need to look at some $$$ invested into increasing the revs, replacing 5th gear ratio and having the peak power at peak rpms, generally speaking.

You obviously haven't been in a modded 951 up in the rev's. I have done 175mph on my 180mph speedo before. I promise you my 5th gear is stock ratio.lol.
To the thread starter here is a test run of 160mph on 16psi of boost back in the day.

When I was stock expcept for LBE I topped my car out at 157mph. My run last year was 175mph. I am sure their are member's on here with 951's in the 180's.

i understand guys, that is why i said GENERALLY SPEAKING
I myself hit 170mph on my stock car (no cat) and that was at 6,000rpm. Now, if you have 350whp or so, and hit 180, then increased power to 400whp you would increase the speed by let's say 5-10mph? giving you 185-190? on the stock transmission? Maybe, we need someone who did this
What im saying is that there would be a limit to top speed no matter how much power your car is making due to the gear ratios and revs. If you have a max rev of say 7,000rpm, naturally your top speed would increase. But the gear ratio would still remain the same.....that was my point that's all
More revs, more speed, but to a limit right? i mean factors such as aerodynamics would come in, then you need more power in the high rev range right?

There are different limits on cars at their top ends...
1)Governed - some device cuts fuel and spark and won't allow you to get past a certain speed
2)Gearing - the car's transmission is geared too low and the car redlines in it's top gear
3)Aerodynamics - the wind resistance ceases acceleration
Our cars are aerodynamically limited to ~155mph stock. They are geared for 180, however. If you increase the power with mods, you will get a higher top speed until you are than limited by gearing.

Yeah, something like that. The speedo in all cars is incredibly optimistic. Someone here did a test with GPS and saw 16X IIRC. There are threads that go one for PAGES about the top speed of the car. It is a function of gearing, power, and weight, as well as wind, etc.

I've had mine to an indicated 155mph when the car was stock. Lately though I'm experiencing high speed instability, the whole car starts to shake, around 120mph and I wont go past that. Can anyone make some suggestions of stuff i should check? I miss having the car be solid I recently had it aligned...

Running about 15PSI with my current setup, only approx. 320rwhp I would say (the car was untuned at the time)... I am tuning the car this week, and am dynoing it on Sunday
