I am almost 99% sure that Bob Howards car does not have a Norwood engine. I have talked to Bob before about virtually every part of that car and he never mentioned Norwood.

The Doom car was incredibly fast, having seen it at TWS (pre banning) it was FAST. It was making full on 993TT race cars look dog slow.

If you are serious about huge HP contact Norwood or Scott Gomes. Both have made incredibly high powered 944/968 motors.

I agree with Matt H, the Bob Howard car does not have a Norwood engine.

Dave, Sorry, I thought folks were talking 944 based engines in 944 based cars...

The monster Scott Gomes engine that folks are talking about IS the Doom engine built by Norwood, I thought. Scott Gomes does build nice stuff tho and can do some pretty high hp stuff, altho I haven't heard of any engines he built being dyno'd at 800hp.

Regards,

I believe the Excellence article stated that Norwood did at least the turbo setup and exhaust plumbing on the Howard car. I don't know if that's correct but that's what the article stated.

Very well could be. I know from talking to "someone" about Bob's car he didnt appear all that happy with the vendor he chose and indicated that "if he had it to do over he would probably go a different way." I dont know if he was referring to the motor or the vendor.

FWIW, Bob Howard has been very very nice. Another lister and I have talked to him about his setup in order to copy some things from it. Believe it or not he answered email and everything.
