just fyi I hered someone mention needing 450hp to beat a zo6.

There are plenty of member's here with car's fast enough to beat stock and modded zo6's from a roll
atock zo6(2002 and newer 405hp version) puts down anywhere from 345-360rwhp. They weigh anywhere from 3100-3250lbs without driver.

oh and not to start a war or anything but, dmsog. No 450rwhp 951 on earth would make 245lb tq. Those number's are obviously bogus.

Plenty of guy's with chip's and LBE's running 13psi making 270lbs of tq on stock motor's, stock afm, hell stock everything.

So I don't know where you got your dyno number's from but, they are fake.

I would like to make my previous statement clear. The car I am talking about has 370 rwhp. I don't think a 370 to the flywheel would make it with a 996tt but to the rear wheels it is no problem. I am not sure about the GT2 but seeing how bad it can beat a stock 996TT I dont see how a GT2 could be faster except off the line. From a role I still think the GT2 would lose period. 370 rwhp in a 3000 lbs 951 is no joke. Stock 911's are fast but they are not crazy fast until they are modified and as far as V8's they can take out just about anything when they are built right but lets face one thing today and that is if you have 450 rwhp in a 951 you will not lose to a 370 hp V8 unless its in much lighter car.

dmsog,
Nice of you to do such a thing. I think you have mistaken the reasoning for us "4cyl" guys to post on your board. It's not to start a war about how our cars with 4cyl are better than your 8cyl ones. Mearly to help some troubled guy that thinks a 450hp 951 makes 245ft lbs tq.

If you have read this thread, you would see where that is stated.

Have a good day and don't let the door hit you in the **** on the way out.

Blitz I don't see a 370rwhp 951 beating a 430rwhp GT2. There is a weight difference between the two car's but, not enough to make up for the difference in hp. Not to mention the newer technology the 6speed trans. The Gt2 from a roll is one seriously fast car. You would need a 951 with over 400to the wheel's to even run with one on a decent basis. To beat one.....well your gonna need even more than that.

I take it you haven't seen a Gt2 take off from 60. They are truely sick car's.

There are prolly only a handful of owner's on this board with a 951 powerful enough to run with and/or beat a bone stock Gt2.

Rage comes to mind. Dfast beat one I think way back in the day. BTW he had 480rwhp!

I think maybe you are letting your love for these great car's overshadow reason.

Porshh951,
I the GT2 has 430 rwhp then you are absolutely right but are you sure about that number? I thought they have 460 to the flywheel.

Mounted in its time-honored place behind the rear axle, a race-proven boxer engine lies at the heart of the 911 Turbo’s aggressive, all-out assault on sports car benchmarks. The new 24-valve, 3.6-liter design, delivers unbridled performance previously reserved for the race track. Advanced cross-flow water cooling allocates a separate circuit for each cylinder and head, allowing the engine’s 477 hard-charging horses to keep their cool. Dual exhaust-driven turbochargers

That's this year's model. 480BHP

He banned my work Ip but not my home, anyway browsing through his post I found were he expresses his personal views about Rennlist;

Posted: Fri Jul 23, 2004 3:55 pm Post subject: My shoot-from-the-hip reviews:
1. Rennlist. This is the granddaddy of all Porsche online resources and there's nothing about these cars that can't be found there. I was so impressed with the information that I became a paying member. What strikes me about this board (in regards to the 944/951) is that a fair number of posters appear to be college kids that are way over their heads with these cars, and a fair amount are shadetree-mechanic types who managed to kill their cars trying to do performance upgrades or repairs. Thread hijacking is a mainstay of the board and some of the members feel personally responsible to post on most every topic whether or not they have any useful input. There is a group that hates V8 conversions (apparently, since most of our cars have pushrod type engines, they can't possibly be as good as the OHC design), and a smaller group that thinks conversions are great. When looking for specific information, I suggest using the search engine. This way you can avoid the "what's the best wax?" and the "what's the best oil filter?" topics that sometimes drag on ad nauseum. Another tip for newbies - don't reveal the fact that you're doing a conversion until you've gotten all of the help you need. One boob offered to sell me a pair of door panels, and then rescinded his offer when he found out about my LT1 swap. https://rennlist.com

2. The Pelican Board. This board, I read somewhere recently, claims to be the biggest Porsche board on the web. It just ain't so. Rennlist has got this one covered on every front, and it appears that if you took all of the Rennlist cross-posters away from this board there wouldn't be much left. Occasionally, you'll find some useful info here, particularly in their "Tech Articles" section. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/index.php?s=

2. The Pors-Chev List. This list actually belongs to Renegade Hybrids, and is a Renegade sales tool as well as a mail list. (I have no problem with that). The discussion of other makes is allowed. The majority of topics are 914-related, although if you ask a 944 question, you'll get an answer. Not a very busy list, but interesting just the same. Be aware that there are several engineer-type members who speak in a sub-language called "Technobabble" that only they can understand. There is also an online archive where posts from way back to current can be viewed. http://www.pors-chev.com

3. Camaroz28.com Here is where I found out everything I needed to know regarding the computer controls for the LT1. The search engine is your friend here if you're using a LT1. Want to know how the IAC works? The TPS? The IAT sensor? Do a search on this site and the mysteries will be solved. http://www.Camaroz28.com

This is hillarious, the amount of time some of you spend trying to defend the name of the holy 944 is crazy. If I had an NA, I'd throw V8 in it too.

Sounds like this guy is a straight shooter and his views are right on the money. Cut these people some slack.

If the engine is a thorougbred like a Ferrari,
I can undestand your sentiments Guys but
the 4 cylinder on our cars whether NA or turbo
was created only with one thing in mind.
Cost cutting, nothing else & we can thank the
bean counters at Porsche for that.

Oh nooo, you mean I cant log into your site again? What am I to do?

Doug, you're a moron for being a **** and banning people for expressing their own views. This is why I pay rennlist money every year, and not some halfass forum like yours.
Love,
Randy

Incidentally, on the Porsche Hybrids Board, we refer to no one as morons or idiots. It just doesn't inflate our self esteem.
