Question Is this Stock Interior for an '86??

The seats look like they are not original, but the carpeting could be?? Was there a red interior (other than burgundy) in 86?

I don't believe so, but just wondering...

Thanks

Looks like a nice car, actually, despite the interior, which is a bit too loud for me personally. There are a couple funny htings with the ad though:

"474 Sport shock absorbers (Bilsteins)"

Those should be konis if they are original, if they are actually Bilsteins that's even better because you know they've been replaced, and at 90K miles the original shocks are ready to be replaced.

"Brey-Krause front strut bar"

That's a KLA unit, not that it makes much of a difference either way.

What a waste of a perfectly good set of sport seats.

I doubt it was in the 951, but it was an option for those seats in that color in some car...

Don't forget that any Porsche can be special ordered from the factory with your own interior and exterior colors. Although tacky, the interior from these pictures looks too well put together to be done aftermarket.

It is called Boutique and they could be ordered in any color you wanted. There should be an option for it. If you have strange feelings call Porsche Customer Care and ask them what the option codes the car came with originally were.

I remember looking through my original brochure for the '86 models and the red leather was an option you can order. I've also seen a black 951 w/ the red interior. Very unusual.
