Default SFR in European car mag project 951

European Car magazine has a long term story on a modded 951, this month's issue talks about changing the header and exhaust to SFR's.
Its a good article and it has a dyno sheet comparing the different stages of the car.

Yeah, it's been going on for a while.
Are you talking about the Sept. or Oct issue?

It is on their website and it looks like they used some Lindsey parts as well. I think they got on track finally.

Hi JChen,
No dyno # yet. I am waiting on Danno to send me my upgraded chip before i do some more tuning and dyno session's.
I sure hope he sent it last week like he said. I paid it on june 14th. And i just can't keep waitting in front of my mail box anymore.

I 'm also upgrading fuel pump(928GTS) and replacing fuel filter and fuel damper.

How about your GT2540R? Does it run good. You haven't posted anything about it since those picture you posted.

For the project 951.
Tim, why did they swap out the B&B to go to SFR.
I know your stuff is the best on the market.
But is it enough to say that it would have limited the power.
Can you tell us what they/you plan to do to it to pump out more power?

With the Kokeln stage 5 turbo with the SFR stage II header being the only significant addition, they reached a mere 308rwhp. Pablo's into the $15k range with 300hp........

Hi Edman,
Been busy. Car has some vacuum leaks. Will sort it
out this weekend. Funny thing was, I paid particular
attenttion to the vacuum lines during the install &
yet it leak. Gonna do some pressure testing.

At what boost?
They also installed a SFR intake manifold right?

The only new parts are the SFR headers and 3" downpipe. Their baseline was only 277rwhp at 17psi (91octane) with the B&B headers on (they admit to having a lean mixture because it jumped to 289 after adjusting the fuel). After installing the SFR headers, they reached teh 306.8rwhp with the same AFR and boost (17psi). The area under the curve was greatly improved as he documents gains from 10-30 from 5300rpms to redline. Apparently tey never lost any midrange with the new headers. There's a nice rise in the HP chart between 3500-4200rpms as the turbo spools before the curve flattens to a slow rise up to redline.

According to the chart, TQ peaks at 310lb-ft at 4100 rpm and slowly tapers to 250 at 6200rpms. It's a pretty flat chart.

NZ951,
They used the B&B headers for the baseline and then replaced them with the SFR units.

To be fair, the Kokeln website has a dyno showing 282rwhp on car with an aftermarket WG. If Kokeln only advertises 282 and they got over 300, I guess that's OK.

Personally, I think they could have better better with a K27/6 and should seriously consider changing turbos........

Well I guess the headers works pretty good then!
But I think the real gains from them comes in conjunction with another intake and cam allowing better top end breathing.
