What injectors for a 3.0 turbo w/8V head
I am working on my 3.0 8Vturbo motor. I have the 55lb injectors on my 2.5 turbo but am wondering if I should go with 70+lb ones instead.... I would also like to get injectors that are compatable with my factory DME/KLR AND a TEC 3 standalone so when I upgrade to the Tec-3 I wont have to change them.
Thanks

I would recommend bosch 52# injectors. Even though they are rated at 52#, they flow over 70#s. That is what I am using with a true GT30 and at 1 bar I was not maxing out on the injectors.

definitely get a low impedence (~2.5 ohm) injector and run ballast resistors for now (DME), ditch the resistors when you go tec3 though.
there was an injector calculator floating around here in the past. not a 100% accurate, but gives you a ballpark figure.

Are you using a 3bar or a 2.5bar FPR? I am also in this position for my 3.0L project - don't know what size injector to get. With all you goodies, what kind of duty cycle do you think you're running @ 15psi?

I am running a 3.8 bar FPR from a 968. I did not check the duty cycle but the dyno shop told me I wasn't even close to maxing out. They did have a wideband hooked up.

Vet, the injector size you get should be based upon the power-level you want to achieve:
325rwhp = 55# injectors @80%
355rwhp = 65# injectors @80%
390rwhp = 78# injectors @80%
Variables like VE, head mods, cams will change this as well. Also with the stock DME, you'd want low-imp. peak & hold injectors w/ballasts. The Tec3 unit comes with its own ballast as does MoTeC, Autotronic, etc. Or you can wire the injectors in combination of parallel and series circuits to meet their minimum impedance requirements and not use ballasts at all. But if you do sequential fuel, you'll need 1 ballast per injector typically.
