No oil pressure! :(
Hi,
My mechanic just did a valves job on my 951. The car ran fine for about 50 miles. When I tried to start it back, my check engine light went on and I had no oil pressure. I heard a knocking noise for about 2 or 3 seconds, but it went away. The oil pressure remained at zero and my lifthers made a louder clicking noise than they usually do. I immediatly stopped the car.
First, I tried the "no dme startup test" to fill the lifthers back.. Without success. Then, I found an interesting comment on the board:
My mechanic wasn't 100% sure about the torque specs. Could this be the source of the problem? Did I damage anything?

Just a guess here, but I wonder if they changed the seals when they did the waterpump and timing belt, and just didn't get the crank bolt torqued tight enough. The oil pump runs on friction, and if the crank bolt loosened, your oil pressure would drop, your engine light would flicker and/or come on like you said, and you could get some of the knocking that you described.

My mechanic gave me a call 5 minutes ago.
"Yan? Hey! I just found your powersteering belt in my garage! I forgot to put it back".
What's next??? Anyway... There are big chances that my crank bolt is still loose as $****, so I'll put everything together and everything should be fine.

Do not go back to that mechanic ever, as he has demonstrated that he's utterly incompetent... If I were you, I'd also make sure that the monster washer behind the crankshaft bolt is put on facing the right direction (convex side forward) -- I've recently made that mistake and it'll prevent you from getting enough torque on that bolt.

Just b/c it's torqued to 155# doesn't mean the problem is corrected. Make sure the pulley is centered as well. I'm willing to bet that since it came loose while driving, it wasn't torqued properly. I agree that you should NEVER return to this mech. Let us know how it turns out.
