Talking Fastest 911 T in the world, with K26???

Yep. I was just reading the new Excellence and the fastest is a 996TT from 9FF tuners, at 230+ mph and it is running two K26 turbos at 1.4 BAR. Well, it has the center section from the GT1 or 2 turbos, can't rememeber but the rest is all K26, even the hotside. Also if I remember correctly it holds that 20 psi to 7000 rpm + without running out of steam. Even with the K26/8 that is supposedly not possible.

They don't run out of steam because they are only supplying 1.8 liters.

wouldnt a 52/12 have quadruple the volume, not double the volume(like the twin turbo has)?

Check out the difference a single or Twin turbo can change in the flow requirement of a 944T motor on the same compressor map.
There's a good difference.

Is it possible to twin turbocharge a 951? Or is there not enough room?

Silverbullet951: Well.......thinking about it it MAY be possible, but costly though. You would need to relocate the second turbo somewhere, modify the exhaust system to get equal gas flow to both turbochargers, two wastegates.........phew..just thinking about it.........it may even require major work to the head, since you want the compressed air entering the head to flow the same.

The 911's are flat 6 engines (3 clycinders on each side), so each turbo is for each side of the engine.
Try squeezing one turbo for 2 clyinders?????

What about twin sequential??? Plumbing might be a little easier as they would both feed the 4 cyn, jsut at differnet rpm/load.

It seems a twin T set up would always out perform a single as you could have a lot smaller turbos for super quick spool up, but they are driving half the motor so still have plenty of steam up top. Am I missing something??

I know a lot of the high end Supra TT guys switch back to single turbo's and I never understood that.
