Default Screw this, how to get 1/4 mile times down with mods?

I am looking for mods and tips on how to get my 1/4 mile times down. From tire choice (not full on slicks but dot street slicks) tire pressure, camshaft options, clutch config, etc... I never have this thing over 200kph, so I dont care at all about top speed, every sacrifice of top speed is welcome, and I dont want to rev higher than 6,500 ever. So lets go team, suggestions? This is a mostly street car, but I want some good 1/4 mile performance.

Oh and I dont want to read one post about these cars are not meant for dragging and real racing includes corners etc. Everyone knows this.

Hmmm, lowering tire pressure (to a certain point) would increase grip. LDS with 70% locking or something would also help in preventing wheelspin.

The problem with our cars, the wheels sping so easily (even in stock) during 1/4 runs. I myself couldn't get the 13.5 seconds stock quarter mile time wheel spins too much.

Just thinking for a moment..........would a stiffer/softer rear suspention help in straight lines?

Mechanical areas would be holding boost to redline, but i guess most people here covered it.

Playing with the gearbox would cost $$$ and would be the most complicated, time consuming and expensive of all.

Damn andrew are you working on 4000 posts.

I say go with a heavy duty clutch(maybe ACT) and then go with a mild pressure plate so the pedal feel is still streetable.

What exactly are your time's and more importantly what are your trap speeds?

Are you still on stock afm? If so then there's a good 20extra hp you could pick up. Honestly though I think the next step for you would be to go big bore. with a decent duration cam. If you don't care about off boost preformance then go with a more agressive lift. The problem is this car is a daily driver no? I would get meth injection and considering the turbo your running just dial up the boost.

As for tires I like BFG drag's or Nitto 555r's. ET streets are also are real good DOT aproved tire for drag racing although I don't know of anyone running them.

You might also consider a lighter spring tension in the rear of the car to help shift weight on the launch. Kind help put the power to the ground. Get ready to be snapping some axel's and cv's.

Rage has a ton of 1/4 experience in the 951. Hopefully he will chime in here and tell you how he does it.

AFM has gone, as most everything else in the bat that can (except AC, thats next). What clutch specs? Kevlar or ceramic or brass or combo? 6 puck?

Traps are 105mph, best is a 14.2 with a 2.6 60ft. I know I can get that down, but i want some mech help too!

I dont want to go through a BIG BORE. Seems like a lot of cash, I am happy with 2.5 and would like to see 400 hp one day.

Yup, I have the slip to prove it. I am putting down no more than 350 at the wheel I think. Will dyno after I put the tech edge in.

Damn, stock claims of 13.5

But you are right NZ951, with so much power going through the rear wheels, hell brakes loose.

Now that we are talking on the subject, i remember in an old copy of excellence, there is this 951 featured putting down 560+hp on the wheels (621 or something flywheel) and they installed a traction control system, thous WOULD be pricey for sure right?

The Link2 has launch control and anti-lag systems, and flat foot shifting, I could try those...

I just get into some of 4th gear, I wonder if a lighter flywheel will help?

damn dude. Traps's tell the hp battle. You are only trapping 105mph??? wtf??

what elevation are you at? I know this makes a huge difference. Not to hurt your feeling's but, a 105mph trap at it's best(killer 60ft time) would only net mid 13's maybe a hair lower at it's best.

What in god's green earth are you only trapping 105mph. You can slip your way all freggin day long to a 14.2 but, your trap should be way way higher with your mods. That's why I ask about the elevation.

Elevation, I can see the sea gulls... maybe a few feet above sea level, seriously. I did granny shift. And my turbo had no BOV effectively. I wonder if the screwed my spool on shifts.
