Default Got Spanked Good Today

Scariest day ever racing (which I know is stupid to do..but it was just one of those stupid moments).

I was playing around with a CBR1000. Anyways, he ble by me pretty hard. I knew I didnt have a chance, but I will still like to play. Keep in mind that I also ride (if I woulda had my bike, a hayabusa, I doubt he woulda tried).

So anyways, during the race, I lost my power boost on teh brakes. I didnt have squat for brakes after that (big reds with no power assist isnt much).

Well, I got it home and figured out what was wrong. There is a "venturi" type thingy under the intake manifold that supplies the main vacuum for the car. The thing blew apart under boost. I assume the venturi shape is to get vacuum at all engine conditions.

So my plan is to get some damn good epoxy (i use hysol aircraft grade stuff) and glue the thing back together.

Just watch out for that fitting. And dont race bikes.

you can delete that worthless venturi crap! dont bother putting it back together. Contact rennlist member MySwiss about his venturi delete and vacuum replacement kit, or do it yourself.

I ripped all that mess out from under the manifold. Run one line to the brake booster. It is so much simpler.

But can you keep the idle stabiliser with the venturi delete kit? or the venturi replacement kit?

Yep, you can keep it!
I have no photos, but I purchased the kit. its a good kit, but I'd be happier if i didnt have to go out and buy a couple things... (because i wanted a complete replacement of vacuum)

I have no power brakes now and asumed the booster was bad. So it could jsut be one of these vac lines??

I have full boost though and see about 16deg vac once fully warmed up.

Do you have to pull the intake for this?

yes, you do have to pull the intake for this, which is not a big deal at all.
