Default #6 or #8 hotside?

I recently sold a K27 and never new if it was a #6 or #8 hotside. The buyer asked me to measure the opening on the hot side. It was 50mm or 1.965 inches. For those of you in the know, what was it?
Thanks,
Kevin

That's not an accurate statement 944turbo.
The difference is the size of the passage
that enters into the volute & not the size
of the opening. The opening on my #8 hot
housing measures the same but from
physical comparison you will see that the #6
is smaller.

I am "playing with" two K26-6 and one K26-8 and in typical reverse engineering fashion extracted these dimensions:

K26-6 specifications:

Compressor Wheel: large OD:2.60”; small OD: 1.74”, depth: .87”; small OD Clearance: .04”
Compressor Housing: Exit ID: 1.63”, Exit OD: 1.96”; Intake ID: 1.78”, Intake OD: 2.01”; R: 2.0”

Turbine Wheel: large OD: 2.54”; small OD: 1.91”, depth: .92”; small OD Clearance: .06”
Shaft: OD ~10mm; Thread: M6
Turbine Housing: Intake ID: 1.88”; Intake bolt rectangle 3.00” x 1.50”; Exit ID: 1.97”; Exit bolt square: 2.50”, R: 2.5”

K26-8 specifications

Compressor Wheel: large OD: 2.60”; small OD: 1.82”, depth: .85”; small OD Clearance: .04”
Compressor Housing: Exit ID: 1.63”, Exit OD: 1.96”; Intake ID: 1.85”, Intake OD: 2.00`”; R: 2.0”

Turbine Wheel: large OD: 2.54”; small OD: 2.15”, depth: .93”; small OD Clearance: .06”
Shaft (same as K26-6)
Turbine Housing: Intake ID: 1.88”; Intake bolt rectangle 3.00” x 1.50”; Exit ID: 2.21”; Exit bolt square: 2.50”, R: 2.5”

The easy thing to do is measure the exhaust exit diameter, it's quite a bit larger on the #8.

Maybe??
Extracting the relevant numbers (exit OD) among those I posted shows 1.97" for the #6 housing and 2.21" for the #8 housing and comparing that to your measurement of 1.965" should leave you no doubt that it is a #6 housing.

All right guys, thanks again. I was just being a wise ***. I appreciate the additional clarification. Sounds like it was a # 6
