Pearl White 951 Vin # 7331 Restoration thread!

Update: The cars oil was drained and came out milkshake. Head gasket was bad. Its now getting the head sent to be rebuilt and a new graphite performance head gasket from 928 performance.

Any other recommendations while this is being done? Ive already looked into the Lindsey racing vent. What else should be done to ensure a reliable engine besides replacing worn components? It will only get an exhaust system, Vitesse chip and 3 bar FPR. Dont plan on doing more performance mods. Looking for a reliable 300 HP.

Apparently it wasn't the oil cooler. I want to buy a set of 17x9 and 17x8 Euromeister fuchs style wheels for it. Does anyone know the correct offset for 86 early offset cars for Euromeister wheels? Other option im considering are these but I don't know where I can find a set with these same offsets. The first are Euromeister, the second are speedline I think...

Following the thread with interest.
I wonder/hope that Larry will make a video about cleaning/restoring this paint (or trying to... it would be great to have content of him working on a 944 Turbo out there). When does it go to him?

The car is now put together and has new tires. It was taken for test drives. Its getting new coil and cables and the suspension components are being checked to see if there are any that need replacing. Other than that its good.

The car got the only944 short shifter installed, new motor mounts, stainless brake lines, solid state pump/prime relay and burgundy shifter boot installed.

This is a great find and glad it's being saved. I've only seen a Pearl White 944T once several years ago. That one had matching Pearl White centers on it's Fuchs.

Yes, its all ready to drive and road worthy, The next step will be the cosmetics. Interior will get detailed and probably going to get it dry ice cleaned underneath. The paint will be the last. We will see if we can recoup the original paint as much as posible if not it will get a full repaint. As far as cost without the paint, after doing the engine reseal, motor mounts and all the other upgrades including purchasing the car its still a sub 20k build. The paint would take it over depending on the level. Over all not to bad to get a well sorted 944T with 69k miles, special paint and reliability upgrades. Ready to enjoy for the summer!
