Default OT: The tools Porsche never expected you to use

I thought it would be fun to post the most unlikely tool you have used on your car in the process of making a repair.

Me: I needed some leverage on a socket to take my turbo exhaust nuts off. I ended up using a bike rack that fits over my brothers 4WD tow bar. It was hollow so slipped over the handle just fine, it was about 1.5m long and gave me just the leverage I needed to snap those suckers. Very funny to look at!

yea, metal pipe... same reason, leverage. I use it alot. I like Danno's engine holder, 3 2x4's with a crest sticker and a part number written on it! hammers are handy, and I have been known to use my father's pvc pipe for the sprinkler sytem, dried mud on it al all. (not much) thats for the 1/4 inch drive.

i've used the handle from a floor jack to get the ball joint into the steering knuckle, the technique is difficult to explain.

I used a dentist's tooth hook probe with a vice grip attached and a dentist's mirror and a flathead screwdriver to remove the T-stat Snap Ring from HotShu's S2.

I cheat and use MAPP gas a lot these days. It's a lot easier on the knuckles and I don't have to strain.

Golf club

well, half of it at least. Sawed off handle fits perfectly over my wrench for use as a breaker bar.

MAPP stands for methylacetylene-propadiene gas. It's about as hot as acetylene (5700F for Acetylene/oxygen, and 5300F for MAPP), but doesn't require an oxygen tank to get there.

Not too many odd tools on the 951 yet (only had it 2 months) but when I grabbed the oxy-acetaline torch when I was removing the trans from a friends '69 Buick Skylark he almost sh-t a brick.

I imagine the oxy-acetaline torch would help getting that brick out too...

My head!!!
I used it to hold one side of the rack up while trying to put new bushings in.
I have never been the same since.
