Anyone out there with a factory Escort Challenge 951?
I own a 86 951 (944 Turbo) found in a guys back yard last July for sale as a parts car. Ended up after much research to be Porsche AG's Test/Development car for run of 6 Escourt Endurance cars.
The car was shipped in late in the season at Al Holberts / Porsche
Motorsport North Americas request.
Al Holbert and Bill Adam drove the car in full rothmans livery at 24 hour Mosport race. The car ran Al Holberts #14 and was owned and campained by P.M.N.A..
Though I have not located them yet, (In all the boxes of parts)
I'm told from previouse owner that the car came Factory equiped
with three chips 250HP,275HP and300HP. I talked to a Porsche mechanic who once worked on another Escort carwho said that that car also had three chips.
Any info on these chips or there part numbers would be greatly appreciated. Dont know that any part # will be in an old Dealer
parts catalogs as I guess they might be cosidered Racing parts???

GeorgeK has a 944 turbo cup for sale in Switzerland. On his website he lists almost everything the car comes with, with part numbers for all the accessories.
You might be able to find the part number there. Just do a search for GeorgeK's car.

Thanks David.
Rich, while similar cars I dont think Escort cars and Turbo Cup
are the same specs. My car was pre ABS Brakes with
8" and 9" X16" Fuchs. The Turbo cups had ABS and
8 & 9 X 16 Magnesium phone dial wheels and I have
not heard of 3 chips on these cars? But Its a lead I'll
check in to.
Thanks, Porschehead
Photo of the car as found ...after drugg over to my house
and shoved in the garage. It was sold as a street car in 87
and eventualy wrecked and repainted gray. Rothmans red
white blue and gold paint scheme can be seen in a few places
below some flaking gray paint.
The Factory fiberglass hood and "Matter" roll cage were sold off,
so I'm looking for those parts.

Rear shot of the car in my garage, this picture lies....its not quite that clean,
but not bad for a car sitting outside under a tarp for 10 years.
Note the negative camber. I have the original Factory balanced and blueprinted motor and transmision but they are out of the car so the
car is sitting about 2" higher than it should.

Chris, Thanks. If I can't locate my original 3 chips I'll contact Andial.
Brett, I live in Taylors S.C. (Greenville County) about 20 minutes from BMW's manufacturing plant where they build the Z-4 & X-5s.
