Do any of you guys have a recommendation for a good/reliable/won't destroy your car auto carrier. I have done a search and could not find enough info. If somebody has had a good experience with one, could you please send some info my way. I have a pretty decent quote from Cross Country Auto Transport, but I am not sure about their reputation.

Thanks,
Michel

I had some place on the internet take my car from maryland to texas. All was good til I found out the dumbasses lost the undertray, the batwing, bent a tie rod and pulled my front sway bar out of it's bushing. GET INSURANCE when you get a transport, they will screw up your 951 if your not careful.

What helped me find the best price was searching on google for cross country auto transporters. There are several websites where you fill out one information form, and then you receive 8 quotes or more in email the next few days. They are generally close, but some were about 200 less. Not sure how to help you w quality service though. HTH

I have used Transport Masters in Florida approximately 4-5 times to ship cars from California to the eastern USA and back. They are a broker that contracts your shipment to independent car carriers. I don't have a phone number for them, but they advertise every week in the back of Autoweek.
If you decide to call them, ask for Sharin (pronounced Shaw-rin).
Best Regards,
Greg W.

I had a car shipped from Oregon to North Carolina a year ago. I used a broker. The Trucker I ended up with was great. His name is Jerry Reese. His number is 704-252-0020. I'd highly recomend him.

I used Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS) to get my car from CA to OH a few years ago. Good service and prices and it arrived in ~7 days with no damage. They are listed in most yellow pages or you can Google them.

PM Sh944 and ask what carrier he used....oh wait....did you say you didn't want your car damaged? Oh, well maybe you shouldn't use his carrier....at least he got the car he bought paid for in full....a little front end work and it will look pretty good
PM him and ask him what carrier not to use...hehe

I'm with Jerome 951 - DAS gave me the best rate on an enclosed trailer, the car arrived (almost) on time, with no damage. Hassle-free transaction.

Thanks for all the feedback! I went with Cross Country Auto Transport based out of Florida. It is on an open carrier which cost $900. Most of the closed carriers were in the $1400-$1500 range. That was a little bit more thatn I wanted to pay. The I will let you guys know how the whole deal turns out.
Thanks,
Michel

Glad to see you found a carrier to suit your price point. Just a word of advice on shipping your car on an open carrier. Either (a) insist that your car rides on the top level, or (b) put several coats of wax on it. When your car is stuck on the bottom level, cars on the top level can easily puke oil, coolant, etc onto your paint job.

Stay away from Inter-City. They are an absolute joke. The number in Excellence is to an agent/jobber, not the actual people. It took "jwl" an extra two weeks to get his car from date promised. The driver, took an extra week and half off(with cars on his trailer) over a pay dispute.
