HI Rage,
Beautiful numbers. Congratulations. Hey, are you
running a Stage III or V turbine trim ? Looks like
you'll get to 400rwhp at 16-18psi of boost.
Please post dyno charts again when you turn up
the boost. BTW, what brand & where can I buy the
block filler that you're using ? Also when you sleeve
the block what was the tolerence that you used &
is there a need to add adhesive between sleeve &
block ?

Thanks for sharing your experience.

It's a stage 3 wheel. TEC recommended I clip the wheel or upgrade it, I stayed with the stage 3 wheel because I want low end boost which I got. I'm hitting 12psi at 3300rpm in 4th gear now.

The block filler used was Moroso Engine Block Filler. Not sure where to get it though.

As for the specs, I can't give them out. One of the conditions I made with John Anderson to purchase and install the sleeves, pistons and rings myself. If you're looking at building a 2.8L yourself, talk to John directly.

rage2, Nice power curves... Are you sure you have a 60-trim compressor?
I would expect better spoolup!! Will be interested in seeing what you get at igher boost levels...
I'm in the process of building two 2.8L engines, one for Evil944 and the second one for me.. it'll be great to compare the various setups...

T04E 60 trim wheel, .70 A/R compressor housing. #8 hot housing stage 3 wheel. Spoolup can be improved, I just had the boost controller set to 55% duty flat to dial in some stuff. Just a very rough tune to see how things were going so far. I'll do a full tune once I get more miles on the motor.

Rage 2,

I must know, if you had to take the engine out again would you drop the whole running gear as in your photos. I have access to a lift like that, and I was thinking that might be the way to go if the engine ever has to come out. Also just out of curiosity, where did you get the headlight conversion kit?

Thanks,
Ryan

haha eurospeed951.

Trying to put more miles on it. Didn't help that it snowed the last 2 days and I got the 18's on already. I did do some tweaking on the AVC-R today, and also turned up the boost to 1.05kg/cm2 (14.9psi) on the AVC-R, and now I'm hitting full boost in 3rd gear at 3446rpm, 4th gear at 3202rpm. Day to day driving is sooooo much better now compared to the 2.5L. Effortless power... no need to downshift all the time. Oh yea, it pulls a hell of a lot harder than last year now .

smokintr6, unless you need to remove the suspension, tranny and the engine, it's a lot more work dropping it out this way. It does look cool though. The headlight conversion kit came from GT Racing. I don't recommend it, I have a hard time trying to keep the headlight cover from yellowing.

Rage: Nice looking power you have there. Who's Mustang Dyno were you using? I know Toma had one at his old shop and to the best of my knowledge he hasn't set up elsewhere.

hehe Toma's setup in someone's backyard, a bunch of us have been running our cars there since his building got sold .

It's a bit ghetto being outdoors, muddy after today for example, but his rates are wicked, and he has a lot of know how to help out too. If you need dyno time with him I can hook you up. I've been doing a lot of Honda work at Tomas over the last few months.

That's awesome, I wish I had a "backyard dyno."
