Default Turbo 2.7 L Engine with S2Pistons?

and S2 Crankshaft.
anyone tried this.
This should be a chepaer way to turbocharge a 3 L engine. The2.7Lalready has the 104 mm bore. so the S2 pistons with the S2 crank should do the rest.
any pro or contra about this project.

The s2 pistons are for use with the 16v head, so the compression ratio may not be correct with the 8v head, and what about the squish ? If you machine the correct dish into the pistons it should work no problem. I was going to use a 2.7 block for mine, until I opened it up and found heavy scoring on the cylinder walls.

Kons, This should bring the compession down for around 9:1CR. However the S2 piston does not have the appropriate shape for the 2.7L head.. Also, I'm not sure if the S2 piston is forged.. I have a set, I'll check it when i get a chance..

If you are going through the trouble of putting a 3.0L turbo together. Why not spend an extra $1200 and get the correct pistons???

we all know the original advertisements and magazine articles claimed the S2 had forged pistons as standard equipment...with this thread I hope someone will finally get the correct answer, whether the S2 pistons are forged or not ! Konstantin, I thought you had friends on the 'inside'
