Who's up for a Bay Area Meet v.2
The last thread was getting quite long, so I decided to start another one. Anyways, who's up for another Bay Area Meet? The last one was in the Feb. and the weather is getting REALLY nice. Highway 9 is always fun.
Hopefully I'll get the 924 running by then, but the 500 easy miles on the clutch might take a while....

Darius,
In case you didn't see an earlier post there's a local 944 run on May 15th here in the Sac area. ibdavid started it up and we look to have maybe 7-10 locals. We haven't finalized the route but Mormon Emigrant Trail to Kirkwood is a likely route. Another option was Georgetown divide to Ice House and down to Hwy 50. Let me know if you are interested.

Hey! This sounds really fun and I'd love to attend. However, my rear main seal is leaking so when I run up HWY 9 some oil drips onto the crossover tube and smokes a bit.
I guess maybe I can run at the back of the pack!

I'm planning on meeting Bill at his house this SUNDAY, MAY 2nd around NOON to help him get this car back together. I think he's talking about a BBQ of sorts. You guys can meet earlier for a drive and end up at his house? I'll be with the family, so won't make it out until noon or so.

Danno has graciously offered to help put some parts back on my car, since I injured my left arm last Saturday. I think we can make this a tech session/install some parts on my car/work session for anyone wanting to do something to their car.
I have the factory belt gauge if some wish to learn how to change or tension belts. Since I have been working on the 944 series car for 18 years, there is little that I have not done and have most every tool required. The one rule is that all work will need to be completed Sunday. No cars left for a week or more.
For those not interested in turning a wrench, we can order Pizza or BBQ.
Drink beer or soda. We will have the opportunity to talk modifications and get expert advise, as the great Danno of Guru Racing will be in the house. My car is starting to become highly modified, so a lot of the common and some uncommon modifications can be seen in person on my car.
So another words my garage will be open shop this Sunday 5/2 from 8am till there is no more interest. How am I able to do this you might ask? Yes, the boss (wife) will be in Las Vegas till Tuesday. So come one and all, as this may not happen again for a long time.
Modifications that can be seen on my car:
Larger turbo and the correct modifications for the installation, like reworked motor mount to lower turbo for clearance and oil sealing.
MAF/ARC II/AFM/APEXI electronic boost controller
Larger intercooler
Ceramic coated exhaust
Centerforce clutch and how to lighten flywheel
Guru 65lb injectors, resistor, and Guru Chipset
Guru stealth MAF kit and removable cat for smog inspections
Late wheel offset with spacers and longer wheel studs
Modifications in the works:
Trick new aluminum control arms from Mumzer, with rebuildable spherical bearing ball joints and teflon bushings. Also the ball bearing has spacers to properly lower the car, by raising the spindle, and thus retaining the stock geometry.
Changing suspension to late offset with longer front and rear control arms to eliminate the spacers. Triple adjustable JRZ coilover shocks.
Installing an exhaust gas temperature sensor and gauge.
Front splitter from AIR
Hope to see you all sunday.
