I'd love to get some first-hand diagnostic advice from you guys about a low boost problem that I am having; maybe even try to shim the wastegate if that turns out to be the culprit. Do you think that time-wise this could be done on Sunday? And of course I'd gladly help with any wrenching on others' cars that needs to be done!
Thanks,
Gary.

Shimming a wastegate is a simple proceedure. You will disturb some gaskets that you should replace with new. Go to Stevens Creek Porsche and ask for Jimmy. He is the 944 parts guy, just tell him what you want to do and he will get you everything you will need. He has never once gotten me a wrong part.

Thanks for the advice! I'll give him a call. Unfortunately I just found out I won't be able to make it this Sunday. Oh well.
Have fun!
Gary.

I'll bring up the new MAP-1 configuration for your review as well. I think Bill's been asking about the plug & play EFI box as well, so I'll bring one up. Still gotta do an install video for that thing...

Folks,
For those of you coming to this extravaganza, are any of you interested in any of these parts:
Radiator -- no leaks, from 65k car
86 Coolant Resevoir and Car -- yellow, no leaks
Battery Charger (somehow, I have 3)
Huntley Stage 3 MAF sensor with pipes and connectors
EDIT: plus instuement cluster from an 86 951, less speedo

Danno,
Yes I am interested in the stand-alone. Just so happens I have a digital video cam. Heck bring any new Guru product for that matter. Danno you are allways pushing the envelope.

Yes, I second that. Good luck on that project! It was great to see all the cars and talk shop. (Great garage by the way) I'm embarrassed that my car crapped out on your pizza run. On the drive home, it started to seem more and more like a leaking boost hose. All l the big ones look good, so I am starting to have flashbacks to a day a year or so ago when I glued that plastic connector back into one of the idle control vlave hoses. I'm thinking 50/50 that connection let go in the Gilroy heat. We'll see. Never a dull moment with the 951.
